    Hello,

I am using Metro Pro theme and would like to move the featured image below the title. I do not see this feature in the Genesis featured posts widget. The image settings I have currently are home-bottom (150x150), image alignment left.

I would like to have the end result be, title above the image and content excerpt, with the image being aligned left of the content.

    please help.

You will need to find a plugin which extends that widget and includes the added functionality you need

    Or

Create a custom version of the genesis featured posts widget and modify it in your child theme

After searching and trying out bunch of plugins I did not find one that would put the image below the title and keep everything else the same. I also tried the fix in the link that you gave me, but that only put the author name and comments link above the title. Is there any code that will put the picture below the title?

I have tried the sandbox plugin, but then the post loses all formatting. Then I downloaded the Genesis Trump plugin but it had no effect on fixing the formatting.

I have found this website (http://wahadventures.com/)which uses the Genesis Metro Pro theme also. They have set up their home page the way that I am trying to set mine up as well. Are you able to see how they did this?

You can remove front-page.php file or rename it like old-front-page.php. After removing it, I think that you will get this kind of design http://demo.studiopress.com/metro/category/category-1/ for your home page. You will set the featured image size and content limit from Dashboard -> Genesis -> Theme Settings -> Content Archive section.

Yes there is code to do that but not when using the featured posts widget unless you modify a copy of it.

I ended up fixing the problem simply not using the featured post widget. If you do not use the widgets for your post, it will default to the theme setting. The title will be above the featured image and content. Then simply set the content archives in Genesis>Theme Settings to Entry Content, set a character amount, check include featured image, select thumbnail (150x150) in the drop down, image align left. This gave me the result that I was looking for.

    Thanks all for your suggestions.

For future reference: Here's a custom widget which extends the Genesis featured posts widget and enables you to move the featured image before or after the title.
