If you set the WordPress Admin Settings/Reading "Front page displays" to the static page, the widgetized front page shouldn't show at all, even if you've populated widgets. WordPress only loads front-page.php if "Front page displays" is set to "Your latest posts".
As for placing the slider above the content area for a specific page, you'll have to create your own widget area and hook it before the content area, perhaps in genesis_after_header. You would also have to wrap the code in a WordPress conditional so it only displays on the target page. If you are not a coder, it really is a whole lot easier to use the widgetized front page as designed.
Here are two articles to help you get started:

Have you requested your free website audit yet?June 7, 2017 at 3:38 am in reply to: How to display entry meta for listing in Agentpress theme? #207418Victor FontModeratorBoth post info and post meta are deactivated in the AgentPress Pro theme. If you edit functions.php and look at line 135, you'll find the following code:
//* Customize Listings add_action( 'genesis_before', 'agentpress_listing_styles' ); function agentpress_listing_styles() { if ( is_singular( 'listing' ) || is_post_type_archive( 'listing' ) ) { remove_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_post_info', 12 ); remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_entry_footer_markup_open', 5 ); remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_post_meta' ); remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_entry_footer_markup_close', 15 ); } }
Comment out or delete the lines for remove_action for the genesis_post_info and genesis_post_meta

Have you requested your free website audit yet?June 6, 2017 at 3:09 pm in reply to: How to output all chosen taxonomies in Agentpress Pro theme? #207399Victor FontModeratorI think you have a misunderstanding of the purpose of taxonomies. In WordPress, a "taxonomy" is a grouping mechanism for some posts (or links or custom post types). The names for the different groupings in a taxonomy are called terms. Using groupings of cars as an example, we might call one group "Ford", and another group "Audi". "Ford" and "Audi" are terms in our taxonomy. It may help to look over the details in the WordPress Codex: https://codex.wordpress.org/Taxonomies
The property details use custom fields that permanently become an item in the post's meta data. If you try to circumvent the theme as it is designed to be used, I think you will be sorely disappointed with the outcome.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorPHP is very particular as to the type of quotes that can be used in code. Straight quotes are rule. If your text editor converted any of the quotes to curly quotes, you'll see errors like yours. Without actually seeing the code, this is just a guess.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou would need to wrap the code in an appropriate WordPress conditional. https://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags
For example, assuming your widget displays on the home page, you can adjust the code like this:
//* Modify the Excerpt read more link add_filter('excerpt_more', 'new_excerpt_more_cat'); function new_excerpt_more_cat($more) { if ( ! ( is_front_page() || is_home() ) ) { $more = '... <a class="more-link" href="' . get_permalink() . '">Keep Reading</a>'; } return $more; }

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorFrom a coding perspective, there isn't anything that can be done. There are so many factors at play here that unless you have hardware level capabilities there isn't much you would be able to change. The difference you are seeing is very likely due to the gamma settings on the two systems.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYour image is 400x80 and you set the height in CSS to be 160px in .header-image .site-title > a, so the image is being enlarged to fit the space you've designated for it.
Raster images such as png and jpg can't be enlarged otherwise you experience the pixelation. If you want crystal clear images use a vector format (svg).
