@bandj thanks a ton, I appreciate the guidance.
Now to figure out how to add both search & social in that area. I guess I'll have to get stuck into some functions, yuck! LOL
thecolabMemberThe demo for Education Pro shows a search to the right, or at least the demo preview image does, but the actual demo doesn't have it and the setup instructions on my.studiopress doesn't have any instructions about the top right widget area.
The Carrie Dils instructions assumes no top bar currently exists whereas with Eudcation Pro it already exists.
tricky
thecolabMemberHi david yeah I checked there, they sent me there as well when I posted on their forum. Like I said it works in menus built into the theme but not on widget menus so I moved the primary menu to the header and busy reworking things to get it looking usable in there right now.
Bummer that the widget menu and ubermenu code structure is so different that they look completely different.
thecolabMemberHey David, yeah sorry I just added the link in cause it asked for it but client doesn't want his dev site showing live of course.
I appreciate your feedback, and yes i have been considering re-positioning the primary menu.
It doesn't appear to be a CSS issue as the normal dropdown is showing fine on that menu in fact it also shows the sub menu item just doesn't show the sub menu item as a mega menu.I appreciate your feedback, Uber Menu sure is a monster, nice plugin though.
thecolabMemberDid you finally manage to get uber menu working?
I'm using Minimum Pro and uber menu works with the primary menu but not with the header top right menu added in through widget. None of the codes they give helps at all.
thecolabMemberI'm having the same issue with sproudvideo iframe embeds
I'm using - eleven40 Pro Theme
thecolabMemberI've been looking for footer widget hooks to selectively disable them for specific page templates but haven't found them yet. Where does one find the hooks for the footer widgets?
thecolabMemberHi Thanks for the feedback cdils and marybaum,
I check on those 2 areas for the next customisation project using this theme.
Right now http://www.messagemetric.com I have just hacked about and left most of the functions intact
I love this theme though, has huge potential to be used for a rage of different kinds of sites so would love to master customising it in different ways.
thecolabMemberYeah thanks I found the references to these widgetised areas in home.php and in functions but merely renaming all references of portfolio to features didn't work. I managed to get a widget area showing but it wouldn't reflect on the front end in the home template.
thecolabMemberThere are some plugins on the wp directory which allow inserting sidebars int post and page content, give it a quick search.
eg. - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widgets-on-pages/
There are a few give them a try
thecolabMemberYou can create a Portfolio page and possible insert a Featured Posts Widget via shortcode into that page? Maybe use the genesis sidebars plugin to create a new custom sidebar and then insert that sidebar using sidebar shortcode plugin?
The menu link for the homepage one is not actually a page just a custom link to the scroll region
thecolabMemberThanks a ton this worked!
