    Hi,
In Education Pro demo, the area above the header (logo) has a menu (social links) and a search box.

I thought this area was widgetized, but I found out you can only add a menu (Primary Navigation) there. Is that right?

Is there a way to make the Header Above area widgetized?

I mean, I would like to add Text, Menu, Search, Whatever in the area in the same way I can with the Header Right area.

The demo for Education Pro shows a search to the right, or at least the demo preview image does, but the actual demo doesn't have it and the setup instructions on my.studiopress doesn't have any instructions about the top right widget area.

The Carrie Dils instructions assumes no top bar currently exists whereas with Eudcation Pro it already exists.

    tricky

they do show the search in the preview picture but not on the actual demo. If you set up the primary nav like in the demo and go to Genesis/theme settings and in navigation section there is a dropdown to choose Primary Navigation Extras.

@bandj thanks a ton, I appreciate the guidance.

Now to figure out how to add both search & social in that area. I guess I'll have to get stuck into some functions, yuck! LOL

Just in case anyone in the future comes along and is looking for the answer to this - Navigation extras is no longer in the Genesis settings and has to be added manually to the functions.php file. Snippet found here:
