    Well, wouldn't ya know it? Three days I've been working on this and no sooner than I finally ask for help, I stumble across the answer.

    function ebay_category( $content ) {

    	if( is_single() ) {

    	require_once("./phpbay/ebay.php");
    	$content .= (phpBayAPI("condition", "3", 625, "", "", false, 20));

    	}

    	return $content;
    }

    add_filter('genesis_after_entry_content', 'ebay_category')

    I don't know if this is the cleanest code, as I'm quite the newbie. If anybody out there sees something they would do different, please do share. In the mean time, I'm marking this topic resolved and hope anybody else struggling with this issue finds the answer here.

    Thanks again Davinder, but I'm not trying to change the functionality... just the text. Too bad it's hard-coded into Genesis theme. That's one thing I notice a lot about many WordPress themes and extensions and even WordPress itself -- MVC design is so often neglected where language files really should be used. Oh well, I guess I'll just edit the hard coded text and be done with it.

    Hi Davinder, thank you for your reply but my point is to use the dynamic functionality of the sidebar:

    - The text is visible only to the logged in user
    - It disappears when a widget is added to the sidebar

    Since posting this I did find where the text is hard-coded in the file /genesis/lib/structure/sidebar.php. I tried copying that file to /genesis-sample/sidebar.php but that resulted in the sidebar going blank. I understand that is the proper way to override. Apparently I'm doing it wrong.

    Just to be sure, I'm not trying to take the "how-do-i" easy way.... I am taking the time to study settings api and theme customization api (and php and css and jquery, etc, etc...). However, these quick how-to tips really do help to make sense of things. I hope to some day be providing answers as well. 🙂

    I have the same issue with Genesis Sample and the demo content, which is what brought me to this thread hoping to find it resolved. I'm no coder (yet) so I wouldn't know how to implement it, but a menu like those found at Code Canyon might work better? I'd like to see how this issue gets resolved. 🙂

    Thanks Andrea,

    The color options won't work because I plan to use one theme for all blogs, so I will have to provide a lot of different styles to choose from, and keep adding new styles over time. But I do like the idea of a custom css plugin... didn't think of that. Is there one that you would recommend?

    I'll keep working on the style selector as I have some ideas that might work. Maybe a combination, users can select a style and then some option for custom css? Well... wish me luck. 🙂

    Are you referring to your h1 titles? They look pretty good to me.

    Is your chrome up to date?

    I ran into the same issue some time ago, on my old computer and an older version of chrome. I'm using a newer computer now and I keep everything updated, so latest version of chrome. I no longer have problems with google fonts on chrome.
