I am curious if the above suggestion worked. I need to accomplish the same thing.
tavismeParticipantHow can I remove the date and category information from a single post without affecting the other posts? I would like the featured post to be static on the front page with the most recent blog posts underneath.
Your help is appreciated
tavismeParticipantAre you just trying to showcase images?
I have had good luck with Easing Slider Lite as recommended on this forum.
It is very easy to set up slides without having to create a post or page. You can still link the images to posts or pages, if you like.
tavismeParticipantI think you site looks very nice. I personally would like to see a larger font used throughout.
tavismeParticipantI can't read your website but it has great colors and nice logo design!
tavismeParticipantI don't think you can go wrong with any of those themes; however, I only have experience with the minimum theme. I can highly recommend it.
The trend is for minimalist, responsive, mobile friendly sites and the Minimum theme fits the bill.

tavismeParticipantPerfect, thanks so much!!
I adjusted the shadow to "none" in 3 different entries.
I appreciate you directing me to the right place!
tavismeParticipantI would suggest running a scan at http://sucuri.net/ and installing the http://www.wordfence.com/ plugin
tavismeParticipantBrad,
Thanks so much for the code error correction!Terri
tavismeParticipanttidagent,
thanks for the feedback. The phone number in the body is clickable, but I will consider the header as well!
tavismeParticipantVery creative, I love the HELP button.
tavismeParticipantI actually really like the textured background. The site is very user friendly.
Sorry, I can't help in regards to the transparent social icons.

tavismeParticipantYes, most of the blogs are assigned to more than one category. That is why I thought to come up with a "Blog" category hoping that anytime there was a blog category assigned the blog sidebar would be used. But this method is not working.
Preferably, it would be nice to find a way to permanently assign all blog posts to use the blog sidebar.
tavismeParticipantI have done that and it did not work. So I am here looking for a solution.
I would appreciate any other ideas you may have.
tavismeParticipantThe blog is set up in that manner.
I was trying to figure out how to have the newly created BLOG SIDEBAR (created with Simple Sidebars) to show up on blog posts without having to go in one-by one and choosing the "blog sidebar." also, I chose Blog Sidebar for the BLOG page but the default sidebar is still there.
When you suggested assigning a sidebar to a category I was just trying to think of a category that was relevant only to blog posts. I do not want the "blog sidebar" on pages (other than the blog page).
I am able to chose Blog sidebar on blog posts. That method does work
tavismeParticipantI had actually marked this post as resolved, but it is not.
I added a category BLOG, and in the set up selected the BLOG sidebar.
Then I added the category BLOG to several blog posts, but the Blog sidebar does not appear when selecting that category. could it be because the posts have multiple categories?
The blog side bar does show up when I select "blog side" in the post set-up.
tavismeParticipantThank you! That should work.
