Thanks so much for your help. Where do I add this?
Normally I add things at the end of my style sheet and they have selectors, id's, or classes on them
Would you mind please pasting the exact css that I need? Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it.
rick4himMemberWow, thanks so much for your help. Sure I don't mind updating the css....
I think I got the bold stuff taken care of...
July 14, 2013 at 2:37 pm in reply to: How To Get The "read more" tag to display when using featured widget amplifed #50681rick4himMemberAny thoughts? It looks like when I did it only the first post had the "read more" tag...and the read more read more tag didn't look the same as it look when i select the content limit ..
any thoughts on this?
rick4himMemberNope. If you check out my link you'll see where they post them..it's not under the title. (which is no different than the way my old plug in did it.) I need to manually place the php somewhere to get them where I want them.
rick4himMemberI would like them to go directly below the title. I read on their site that I need to do this (although I don't understand what I need to do.) Can you help me out? 🙂
Is it possible to show the buttons anywhere inside my theme, using a PHP function?
Yes, you can call this PHP function:<?php echo really_simple_share_publish($link='', $title=''); ?>
You can pass the share link and the title as parameters. You shouldn't leave the parameters blank, unless the code is put inside the WP loop. For example, use this code to create buttons linking to the website home page:<?php echo really_simple_share_publish(get_bloginfo('url'), get_bloginfo('name')); ?>
rick4himMemberThanks, I downloaded the plug in, but where does it give you the option to put the sharers where you like? I see you can do above and below content areas, but how do you do place it manually (ie: under titles.)

July 14, 2013 at 11:14 am in reply to: How To Get The "read more" tag to display when using featured widget amplifed #50643rick4himMemberThanks Susan, however I'm using the featured post amplified widget on the home page to show those posts, so would that still work?
rick4himMemberThanks for your help, all of your suggestions are great! Any chance you could help me with a css to make those changes?
rick4himMemberHey tanks so much...does it look to be working now?
rick4himMemberThanks for the kind words on the site, it's been a lot of fun telling his stories.
As far as the content, that's our focus for sure. However, we have a pretty large social community (his facebook page alone is over 45,000) so social is pretty big for us to help us tell the story. (Check out how many social shares this post has ---> http://noahsdad.com/target-down-syndrome/)
As far as the plug in, I saw that one, but that wasn't what I'm trying to do. Those are the social icons. I was talking about the social sharers (where you hit like, etc..)
rick4himMemberThanks so much, we're trying to help the world see what life is like raising a child with Down syndrome. 🙂
The next big things I need to figure out is
1. How to make my social sharers look better. I'm thinking I'd like to put them under the title, but not sure. I just know that now they look sort of bad.
2. Made the 2 center widget areas on the home page look nice. I'm not sure how to do that since I'm not a designer. It looks like I need to do something with the text on the category name so they are on the same line, then maybe doing something with the titles....not sure, I'm open to any and all advice. 🙂
Thanks again for taking the time to help.
rick4himMemberThanks, looks like that worked! You're a life saver!
Have a great day, and thanks so much for your help.
rick4himMemberSo I found a clue as to what is happening. It looks like every image where I used a caption is doing that..... I switched form another theme that put a white box around the image....I'd like to get that back.
rick4himMemberJust the normal way, writing the post, then clicking the insert image button and uploading.......very strange how some of the images are showing up correct, and others aren't.
rick4himMemberThanks for jumping in, but a lot of my images are like that. How could that image be like that, while others aren't, when they were both inserted into the post the same why? Why do you think Genesis is doing that?
It would take forever to go through 2 years of posts to see what posts images are inserted like that. Any ideas how I can fix it? (Or better yet, why it is doing that?)
Thanks.
rick4himMemberThanks for your help, I think I got it all working now....how's it look on this site: http://www.noahsdad.com
rick4himMember@Doug, I'm trying to do the exact same thing on my site. I like how you got your logo working (and looking) on your site. Did you use this method? I tried to use the responsive header plug in, but had a hard time getting it to work. Looking to do this without a plug in.
June 27, 2013 at 2:06 pm in reply to: How do I get rid of the primary side bar widget on pages? #48092rick4himMemberBut If I do that it removed the twitter / facebook stuff I have on there. I want to keep that. I want to remove the primary sidebar.
rick4himMemberThe site is an development....the image I have can be resized to whatever space I need.
