Also if you look on the main page you'll see the featured images don't go all the way across any more after using your code. Not sure what is going on.
rick4himMemberThanks. Looks like this fixed the issue, but I have a weird squeezed version of my gravatar at the top of the screen when I'm logged in. Any idea what's up with that?
What did that last big of css do that gave me?
Thanks for your help
rick4himMemberNo....if you go to a link, like this one you'll see the main picture at the top doesn't extend all the way to the right. It looks like the border cuts off. Also the side bar images / ads don't look right. I don't know if it's padding, or boarder, or what. Do you not see what I mean?
rick4himMember@buddy,
You may want to look at it again. It's not working. Take a look at the test site and try to click on a single post with an image. You'll see the image doesn't go all the way across. Also you'll notice the side bar doesn't look right.
rick4himMemberJust the background area (and the area between the side bar and the content area)
rick4himMemberThanks.
Is there a way to change that and the background color to the same color so it looks more like this.
rick4himMemberHmm..it seems to be changing the color of the area to the left and right of the posts, but not the area in between the content area and the the sidebar. That's the part that really needs to change since right now it looks like one big area and not showing any separation.
rick4himMemberFor some reason the background tool in the options panel isn't changing the background color on the magazine theme. Not sure why.
rick4himMemberChris, I don't want it to show the "content limit."
I want to show the excerpt (which is the specific text I put into the excerpt box, typically the first few paragraphs of a post.)
rick4himMemberNo Chris. I want to move the 600width image under the site title (instead of above it) like the question stated.
Not sure how I can be more clear that that.
rick4himMemberHmmm..that isn't really a very clean option. Hopefully someone can chime in and give some feedback on how to do it without using a plugin.
rick4himMemberHey Chris, that would be one huge logo! LOL....
Also that would take the tag line away (which I want to display.)
Here is a link to the logo I would use. I want it small it tight (probably even smaller than what it is now.) I would want the logo to just replace the part that says "Noah's dad" on the test site.
rick4himMember🙂
rick4himMemberThanks so much for your help. This is great!
rick4himMemberNevermind. I actually used the "regenerate Thumbnails" plug in and that seemed to worked.
rick4himMemberThanks Chris.
I'm actually not even sure if that's what I need (or should) do.
When I go to media settings I notice that the thumbnail size is set to 180x180 and there is a check mark by "crop thumbnail to exact dimensions" - is that what should be there?
rick4himMemberThanks so much for your help. I ended up using the featured posts widget and selecting all categories Is that what you meant? (I didn't see a recent post widget.)
Thanks.rick4himMemberThanks for your help. I'm trying to learn some CSS, but am still learning. 🙂
Is there an easy way to figure out how to make simple changes to fonts, colors, etc?
rick4himMemberI wanted to make my side bar show up correct on the magazine them (300 px wide) and was told to make this change:
.sidebar {
display
:
inline
;
float
:
right
;
font-size
:
13px
;
line-height
:
20px
;
width
:
300px
;
}
However, as you can see on my staging site things aren't looking correct. The boarder around the images off, and the sidebar doesn't look right. Hopefully someone can help me fix it.
Thanks so much
rick4himMemberAlso this post says to disable all current plug ins on the current site. That would totally mess my existing site up if I did that. Is there any way I can duplicate the site without doing that?
