Thanks! What about just adding some padding around the header?

2 follow up questions: after I do that, how can I get a little more black box around my logo / serach box so the logo has a little room to breath...if that makes sense...
and how can I correct my search box from getting cut off?
January 29, 2013 at 10:09 pm in reply to: How do I add a white space between header and menu? #16306rick4himMemberThanks so much! (By the way, I sent you an email.) 🙂
Also someone mentioned I should "
"give the navigation div a top margin
margin:10px 0 0 0;"
Is this just a different way to do the same thing? Is one solution better than another?
Thanks!
rick4himMemberBy the way, I just looked at some of your work, and it's great!!
I'd REALLY appreciate your help! That would be super awesome!
I'll send you an email. Do you skype / ichat by chance?
rick4himMemberOh wow! That's awesome!! What a small world!!!
rick4himMember@SoZo - Have you tried to do it yet? For some reason it won't let you upload a logo, you can only upload a very small sized file. Not a 250x150 or so logo....
January 14, 2013 at 2:53 pm in reply to: How do I change the font size and line spacing on my blog title? #11907rick4himMember@bwboykin, right but you have to have selectors / ids in there somehwere. I'm going to add the css to my custom css as opposed to changing the core files.
What css would I use to do that?
January 14, 2013 at 2:37 pm in reply to: How do I change the font size and line spacing on my blog title? #11902rick4himMemberThanks, but I'm wondring what css I could put into my custom css to change this. I can't seem to get the selectors / ids correct.
rick4himMemberAwesome thanks!
Any thoughts on how I can change the gray background color on that bottom navigation?
rick4himMemberHmm.. i did that and it tool my blue away.
Here's what I used.
#inner {
background: #1a1a1a;
}#inner .wrap {
background-color: transparent;
box-shadow: none;
/* or delete this line fromt style.css */
}.home #content {
padding: 0 20px 20px;
}.featuredpage h4,
.featuredpost h4, {
background: #fff;
margin: 0;
padding: 0 10px;
}.featuredpage .page,
.featuredpost .post {
background: #fff;
padding: 0 10px 15px;
}rick4himMemberThanks so much, that seems to be very much what I'm trying to do. However you can see that I have changed my background to a light blue patterns I found. Is there a way to do this same thing using that blue pattern which you can see on the test site now?
thanks!
rick4himMemberI'm patient. Not sure what you're referring to.
None the less that plug in seems to be working great. Thanks for your help!
rick4himMemberThanks Chris. I'm aware of that method, but I don't think it's the best way to do it. The tag line is very important to seo for you home page. The way you are suggesting (and have it on your site) is a bad way to do things from an seo perspective. You tag line doesn't seem to really be trying to rank for certain key phrases so that may not be important to you. However I'm wanting to rank for phrases in my tag line so I would want the actually text to be there as opposed to an image with the text in it. I know you can use alt tags, but that isn't the same as actually having the text there. That why I asked the question the way I did.
Thanks for your help however. I really appreciate it.
rick4himMemberI am using the theme as it's designed. I just want to add the social icons there. I'm sure someone can jump in and point me in the right direction.
Thanks.
rick4himMemberThanks Chris. Where do I stick this code?
rick4himMember@buddy - I'm not sure why I would want to close the thread, the issue isn't fixed. Maybe Nick the Geek will jump in.
Also it doesn't seem like I should jump into the function.php file since the theme should work as is. Hmmm..strange.
rick4himMemberHmmm. I'm just using the typical magazine theme. Not sure what's going on with the theme...
rick4himMember@buddy,
Thanks. I just deleted that and the featured images are back to normal. I think the sidebar issue is related to the images in someway though... It seems like one is effecting the other.
