Well, I'll say this. We have had Black Friday deals for the past few years. I can't say we will because I'm not in that department, but if you are an affiliate and want to push the sale I'd recommend keeping an eye on your inbox for the next few days so you are ready. I could be wrong but it does seem to be a tradition.
nickthegeekMemberNo, there is no limit. That is one of the things that really drove us nuts with the previous system. Once that limit was reached we had to go reset it and send a new link. This is much better in so many ways.
nickthegeekMemberAs Susan said, the old forums are available to users that were on that system as a read only resource so they can see the tickets they had submitted and otherwise use that resource as this one is built up.
nickthegeekMemberbirdonawire55 and anyone else that is missing themes,
Please use this form to let us know which themes are missing

You will still be able to search the old forums for your answers while these forums build up. You can also use these forums.
nickthegeekMemberIt is more than just securing the data. When you collect details like that you need everything secured. SSL to ensure the data between the form and your server or the third party server is secured. The server itself needs to be secured. Do you want to trust the third party public system to secure your data? Any system that could ever access the data needs to have extremely high security. A single virus or trojan can cost you big.
I mean really big. When you collect this data you are responsible for it. If it gets out (and it will unless you are crazy good, this stuff gets taken from secure servers on a scarily regular basis and it is most often collected because some computer with access got hacked not the secure server) then you are liable for damages. Lawsuits on this kind of stuff have cost millions lately.
Personally I refuse to do any project that looks to collect this kind of data. When I do Credit Card Processing I try to convert that to a purchase ID with the gateway without recording the credit card number ever. I don't want anything to do with keeping data like this. There are third party agencies that can process the data and send me the info I need so I don't ever have to touch the personal information.
nickthegeekMemberUm, I don't know of any system that does that. I would never fill that in with a WordPress based form. If you want to collect that kind of info you need a ton of security, split your information into two secured and encrypted databases so if one does get lifted the info is useless.
Seriously not something you want to get into without a lot more experience in securing data. You will get hacked and you will get sued. Look at the Playstation Network and other big systems out there that have been hacked, and they weren't even collecting SSN+CC. Do that and every identify theme will be all over you.
nickthegeekMemberEnter that URL into the content field.
nickthegeekMemberWe close the tickets internally, but if you reply to the email you will automatically open that ticket again, so if an issue isn't resolved simply reply to the last email you received. Don't worry about "open" or "closed" as that is purely internal now.
nickthegeekMemberTo add to what Susan said, each community theme developer has support for the theme. So check with the developer or use the get help link at my.studiopress.com to request help and we can get you to the right place.
For customization, post here and tag your thread with the theme you are requesting help for, this will make it easier for others searching for things related to those themes.
nickthegeekMemberWelcome to the forums. Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself.
nickthegeekMemberDave, if might help if you leave a way for people to contact you.
I don't recommend leaving your rates in the forum as those are subject to change.
nickthegeekMemberNews has recently been updated to 2.1 which is responsive. We do not have any specific release dates and cannot guarantee every theme will be updated to 2.0. I do know they are working on the next version of AgentPress but this might be while.
November 19, 2012 at 6:28 am in reply to: Fatal error: Call to undefined function genesis_widget_area() #665nickthegeekMemberIf anyone searches and find this. This error is caused by not using at least Genesis 1.8
nickthegeekMemberIt isn't a plugin, it is a Widget that is built into Genesis. "Genesis User Profile Widget"
November 18, 2012 at 10:55 am in reply to: If you have Multisite.. you really have to make updates on each sub-site? #556nickthegeekMemberMultisite is just that, multiple sites. Each site uses the same install and can share plugins, themes ... but content is seperated. There are some plugins that allow for some level of content sharing, but this is breaking the intended functionality.
Think of how it works at WordPress.com. Many different sites being run on the one version of WordPress. Each admin can independently control their site within the controls allowed to them. That is the purpose behind multisite.
nickthegeekMemberAt this time we recommend using the tag feature when posting child theme specific questions.
nickthegeekMemberScotm,
This is not intended behavior. We had fixed this before launch and it somehow snuck back in again. We'll be addressing it again shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
nickthegeekMemberFor years I used FireFox almost exclusively. Way way back when I used Netscape, then Opera, then FireFox. If you are familiar with the evolution of browsers you should notice a trend, I have been avoiding IE from the beginning.
That said, ever since the rapid update cycle in FireFox I've not been happy with them. The updates seem to kill plugin functionality and they often go backwards. Back around version 5 or 6 FireFox supported CSS3 100%, now there are several CSS3 features such as box-sizing that are only available using the -moz- prefix again.
I finally abandoned FireFox despite my love for FireBug, which is the only thing that kept me on FireFox as long as I stayed. I use Chrome and Safari now. The built in developer tools are pretty good. Chrome is the better tool set of the two. In fact, when I am doing speed optimization, I find the tools in Chrome to be far superior to FireBug. I can find out much more on the load details with the built in tools than I could in FireBug with the ySlow extension.
I'm actually using Safari to type this, but I'm pretty back and forth with Safari and Chrome depending on what I need at a time. Chrome is open in another window.
nickthegeekMemberWe do not have any release dates for upcoming themes.
