I really enjoyed, the ''My Studio press'' where we can see our downloads and support tickets, but i think the forum should be work together. We learn too much stuff here. But congratulations to all and long life to Genesis Framework!

November 16, 2012 at 2:57 pm #362dreamdancerParticipantI totally agree, I have spent so much time on the forum and have learned a lot from other users. Would rather this be a part of My Studio press so that we can talk about the themes and ideas for them.
November 16, 2012 at 6:28 pm #388SoZoMemberYou can still do all of that here š

November 16, 2012 at 10:24 pm #397nickthegeekMemberYes, these forums are intended to replace the old forums but be much more community oriented. The information in the other forums was getting really dated and horrible to try and search. We want to see all of the discussion that would have happened in the old forums happen here. This change is happening at the same time as my.sp because this really is part of the new my.sp portal.
November 20, 2012 at 5:47 am #809mindmapMemberIs there any way to see the old forums? As almost everyone says there was so much helpful info on these which I also used too solve issues without having to ask questions. It would be extremely helpful to see these.. or maybe they are here and I am not seeing them.
November 20, 2012 at 6:10 am #811SusanModerator@mindmap - you can still see the old forums: http://www.studiopress.com/forum
November 20, 2012 at 7:43 am #816nickthegeekMemberAs Susan said, the old forums are available to users that were on that system as a read only resource so they can see the tickets they had submitted and otherwise use that resource as this one is built up.
November 20, 2012 at 8:19 am #825tbray09MemberHow can I search all tickets by template name and version number over here? That solves the "bad answer issue" on the old forum - Buddypress is a hack for support. I have simple questions at very odd hours. Is there a video that explains all this?
November 20, 2012 at 10:32 am #873SoZoMemberTheme name and version won't be searchable unless people tag their posts with that information

November 20, 2012 at 1:51 pm #928crevilaroMemberSuggestion: Have the same ''online gravatar'' at the MyStudio Press menu, not just in the Forum it will be cool! =)
Tks!

As Sozo shared, we are relying on users to tag their threads. Please put in relevant tags such as the theme you are using. This will make it much easier as things develop so that users can search by theme.
November 26, 2012 at 3:56 pm #1763TerryMemberGreat to see you guys making the long anticipated changes. I'm a great fan of StudioPress but having a little trouble understanding what goes where and finding the areas that have been helpful to me. Your old system was great, being able to search through the questions/answers of others was one of the most useful aspects and (really) clinched the decision to initially buy SP.
A couple comments (because I finally have time)...
I'm having a difficult time understanding why the division... Am I correct that the forums are a repository for postings and for users to help other users but they are not staffed by the SP team?
While my.studiopress is for "getting help" or other "listening" functions that we need to login for access. (No interaction here)
The two logins are just a pain (actually three to get to archive). It would be great to use a single login again.
I couldn't find where in my.StudioPress we're able to see the "getting help" ticket submissions & answers. Where can we get the postings like in the old system? May not have looked hard enough but that feature and the great support you have has me recommending StudioPress to all levels of WordPress users/developers.
Generally, change is hard. I've looked for blog postings on the new system and haven't found what I'm looking for yet. Something topĀ levelĀ that describes the why behind the design/login/etc would really help me get my arms around what the end game is. It seems like this is anĀ interimĀ step.
The forum is a great idea, just may be difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. Wonder if having areas for each theme under the forum might be useful for people. Specifically theme areas (like the old folder structure) would make it much easier to use. Best of luck asking people to tag their threads, especially for new people this may be a stretch. The directories force the categorization.
You asked for feedback and here it is. Change can be hard, love your products, just having more difficulty than anticipated understanding what goes where in the new system and missing the easy to navigate breakout by theme andĀ benefitingĀ from the experience of others. As others have said... can see on your side why a Ā ticket system eases internal support, from my side I can't easily find what I'm looking for.
For what it's worth, hope it helps. If it's easy to use... people will. I love your products and wouldn't have taken the time to share if I didn't. Right now, it's a little confusing and that's not what your intention is.
Best Wishes for continued success,
Terry

And tbray09 - we aren't using Buddypress. this is bbpress. š These forums are not for official support. Please file a ticket in the helpdesk for that. Also note if you are looking for answers, the member's area has setupĀ tutorialĀ and aĀ TutorialsĀ and Code Snippets links on the right side of the page.
