To get the comment field to appear, have you tried this?
Go to Dashboard > Genesis > Theme Settings...scroll down to "Comments and Trackbacks"...and then you will see "Enable Comments"...and then check the "on posts" box.

September 12, 2015 at 4:24 pm in reply to: Can someone please outline a typical use of themes? #165313MoodyRivieraMemberI can't disagree with much of what you've said here...but I'll add one thing: There are lots of other developers creating themes that run on the Genesis framework...StudioPress isn't the only player in the game. Just start googling.
Also, there are several options you can use to customize your Genesis child themes without having to learn PHP...the CobaltApps Dynamik Web Builder is one of them...there are lots of others, such as BeaverBuilder, etc.

MoodyRivieraMemberGreat job...looks better than the demo.

MoodyRivieraMemberMaybe this will help.

MoodyRivieraMemberAnd here's what *I* get...slightly different look...on a 27-inch iMac...Chrome browser.

MoodyRivieraMemberLooks like that's the case...as StudioPress themselves say, "...once visitors click into a page the header expands, and the absence of a sidebar or other bells and whistles places each visitor directly into a private conversation with you."
The idea seems to be distraction-free viewing of your content.
There are probably ways to get a sidebar working in the theme, but if you like the other aspects of the Ambiance Pro theme, you could probably save yourself a lot of trouble by finding a different theme with a similar look and feel that does include sidebars.

MoodyRivieraMemberHave you fixed this already? I just checked with two browsers, and don't see the problem.

MoodyRivieraMemberHave you checked to see if there's some kind of plugin conflict?

August 21, 2015 at 1:26 pm in reply to: Please Critique my minimal design for my portfolio :) #163090MoodyRivieraMemberOff to a good start, but really...you need to find out why the site is loading so s l o w l y and fix the problem. Seemed to take about 30 seconds to show up. Also you should get someone to proofread your text.

MoodyRivieraMemberI don't have much feedback other than to say that all three sites look great. Really nice work there.

MoodyRivieraMemberNot sure what you mean when you say that you "can't read anything due to the transparency." What is it that you can't read? And where is the "transparency"?
*MoodyRiviera*
MoodyRivieraMemberWhen you say, "I am a firm HTML5 supporter and am disappointed to see it not used in this child theme. How did I miss that when I bought the theme? I will need to check more carefully in future….HTML5 shouldn’t be for PRO Genesis versions alone, it should be a standard feature, imho! I guess I could edit it myself and update it to HTML5 before a PRO version release."
I think that StudioPress agrees with you on this...and I'm fairly sure that all "recent" StudioPress themes (created in the last few years) *are* HTML5 and are responsive.
Just look for the "Pro" designation.
One other thing...some of the newer themes have names that are similar to the older themes names...but they added the "Pro" designation...but those newer themes, in addition to being HTML5 and responsive, don't usually look much like the older themes with the similar names. For example, when they came out with the "Enterprise Pro" theme it's a lot different from the old "Enterprise" theme.

MoodyRivieraMemberThat's excellent news. Thanks for letting us know.

August 10, 2015 at 3:56 pm in reply to: New to WordPress, start w. Genesis or keep it basic? #161980MoodyRivieraMemberI agree with Davinder...I don't see any advantage in just learning WordPress and then working into Genesis...even if you don't want to play with the CSS and functions file.

MoodyRivieraMemberConflicting with some other plugin?
*MoodyRiviera*
MoodyRivieraMemberWhat @jeffcoop said...yes. But also, there's a very fine white horizontal line between the background of the menu area and the background below that...but I only see that on the Home page. It's right in line with the red "page indicators" in the menu.

MoodyRivieraMemberSounds like things are working as expected...and you'll probably need some expert coding to change the way the theme works. Here are some notes from the Altitude Pro setup instructions:
The Altitude Pro theme demo uses a 1600?—1050 pixel image for the each of the Front Page Background Images. Your Front Page Background images don’t need to be a specific size – the theme is responsive and will crop, shrink, and grow the image as needed.
However, due to the nature of the effect applied to these Front Page Background Images, not all images will look correct. Images designed to serve as a backdrop will work best.

MoodyRivieraMemberNot sure if this might help someone else figure this out, but when I view the page in both "wide" and "narrow" view on my iMac, everything looks OK...when I view it on my iPhone, it looks OK on "wide" view but on "narrow" view everything is sort of "jumbled."
*MoodyRiviera*
MoodyRivieraMemberHave you tried turning off all the other plugins (except for Gravity Forms) and then see if (as seems more likely) that the conflict is with another plugin rather than the Associate Theme?
Also...Gravity Forms has pretty good tech support, in my experience.
