Kristie HillMemberI opted to use Carrie's plug-in, instead: Genesis Style Trump Worked perfectly for my needs. Didn't want to adjust much of the original WooCommerce style, just some.
You can still go look at the site if you need a good laugh. FYI, it is still a work in progress.

Kristie HillMemberyeah, i must not have copied all of them. It's a messy file. Will keep chugging...

Kristie HillMembergreat resources!

Kristie HillMemberI was afraid you would say that was the only way to keep it from stripping the code. I was hoping for something a little more concrete. Drats.
I have a love/hate relationship with WordPress... Mostly love, but the visual editor deleting code has been driving me crazy for a while know. Might be time to disable it.

Kristie HillMemberYep, I'm aware of the instructions to block the whole site. If you click the advance options it gives this instruction:
If you want to turn off Pinning on a single image, add this tag to it:
<img src = "foo.jpg" nopin = "nopin" />
So, the code would be on individual images in individual posts. WordPress auto deletes code that they think is an error. I have had similar issues when adding other code from social media sites before.
I am looking for a way around WordPress' auto fix for HTML.

Kristie HillMemberI would recommend changing the profile name from admin to the authors name. Admin shows up under each post right now.

Kristie HillMemberHi! A lot of the Genesis themes transform the text to be in CAPS for titles and such. Search for this code in your stylesheet:
text-transform: uppercase;
Delete it in the areas you don't want it to be capitalized.
Hope that helps, good luck!

June 10, 2014 at 2:59 pm in reply to: How do I set up an articles archive without knowing code #108822Kristie HillMemberIn addition to what Andrea said, you can create an archive page very simply using a Genesis theme. From your WordPress dashboard go to pages - add new. On the far right side, under page attributes you can select Archive.
Hit save and you automatically have an archive page!
Not sure if that is what you are looking for.
I actually don't think 700-1000 words is too long for a blog post. An alternative is you can set your blog roll to only show excerpts of the blog posts. From you WP dashboard go to Genesis - Theme Settings, scroll down to Content Archives and select Display Content Excerpts .
Hope that helps!

Kristie HillMemberAre you trying to log into your WordPress account for your self-hosted blog?
It gets a little confusing. But, you need a wordpress.com account for Gravatar.
Kristie Hill
Kristie HillMemberIt is really easy to set up via the link ShariLee mentioned. If you're looking for step by step instructions, you can check out my post on creating a gravatar:

Kristie HillMemberThanks for taking the time to experiment for me, that is really nice. I didn't realize I had a plugin in the inactive section. Once I deleted it, the settings took.
I should have thought of that, the plug in code will only take one design.
Thanks again for your help!

Kristie HillMemberHa. I don't actually want the icons that large. I just set it to something dramatic when I realized it wasn't getting bigger.
I activated style trump to see if that would fix the problem.
I tried your suggestions for disabling style trump and jetpack, but no go...
I'm pretty sure that adding the code in would work, but what is the point of having settings within the widget if they don't work?

Kristie HillMemberThe color scheme is awesome!

Kristie HillMemberHi! The link to your site doesn't work?

April 16, 2014 at 10:27 am in reply to: How do I incorporate Schema so I can make use of Pinterest Rich Pins? #100690Kristie HillMemberHi! I just activated rich pins for my website. The Genesis SEO settings is exactly what is needed for a rich article pin. On each post, make sure you fill out the Theme SEO settings. The Custom document title will be the bold title under a pin and the meta description will be the short blurb in gray under the pinned image.
The beauty of Genesis, it makes everything so much easier.
All you need to do is vaidate your website by linking a post that you have filled out the SEO settings for and then apply for approval.
It took 2 weeks for my blog to be approved for rich pins. I did not get an email saying I was approved, it just started working after 2 weeks.

Kristie HillMemberFound a solution! In case you are interested too, I use the Jquery pin it plug in, with the extension.

works perfectly!
