    Hi!

    Anyone know of a way to get WordPress to stop auto fixing my HTML? I am trying to add nopin="nopin" to individual images on my blog, per Pinterest's instructions, but WordPress keeps deleting it out of my img code.

    So do you want to selectively add it to individual images or to the entire site? The instructions there is for all of the images on your site. You would add the code they provide under the Genesis > Theme Settings > Header box.

    Yep, I'm aware of the instructions to block the whole site. If you click the advance options it gives this instruction:

    If you want to turn off Pinning on a single image, add this tag to it:

    <img src = "foo.jpg" nopin = "nopin" />

    So, the code would be on individual images in individual posts. WordPress auto deletes code that they think is an error. I have had similar issues when adding other code from social media sites before.

    I am looking for a way around WordPress' auto fix for HTML.

    Are you editing your posts after the fact using the Visual editor or the HTML editor?

    I did a test for an existing post with an image, and using the HTML editor I manually added the nopin="nopin" into the image attributes, and it wasn't removed when I saved the post.

    So your workaround would be to switch to HTML mode, add the nopin="nopin" and save in HTML, then you'd have to avoid ever editing/saving that post again using Visual mode, else it would be stripped out again.

    This may be another example of the WordPress Visual editor stipping out needed HTML or object information because it doesn't know any better (yes, this has been a WP issue for a very long time, going back to the object embeds with videos from various sources).

    I was afraid you would say that was the only way to keep it from stripping the code. I was hoping for something a little more concrete. Drats.

    I have a love/hate relationship with WordPress... Mostly love, but the visual editor deleting code has been driving me crazy for a while know. Might be time to disable it.
