Brad DaltonParticipant
You can disable the comments in the Discussion Settings under Default Article Settings
Allow people to post comments on new articles
And also add this code to your child themes functions.php if you want to remove the comments form.
remove_action( 'genesis_after_post', 'genesis_get_comments_template' );
Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantYou could have used Genesis Simple Edits for this or Genesis Simple Hooks plugins.
Maybe jobs is a custom post type and not a category.
By the way, your sitemap page looks a but messed up.
Brad DaltonParticipantYes. Its a bit of inspiration but must have cost an arm and a leg.
Brad DaltonParticipantInstall the WP Migrate DB plugin on your existing site
Enter the new server path and domain
Export the DB SQL file
Create a new DB on your new server and import the .SQL file
Upload your files and change the wp-config.php database connection settings with the new DB settings

Brad DaltonParticipantI like Easing Slider as its super easy to install anywhere in Genesis using the Simple Hooks plugin.
You upload your own images and link them anywhere you like. Easy to adjust width and height and also includes a range of different effects like a shadow arc.
Written a tutorial about it if needed.
February 5, 2013 at 6:15 pm in reply to: Using a Static Page as the Home Page with Responsive Slider for Executive Theme #18345Brad DaltonParticipantYou'll find when you setup the the slider and add content to the widgets that the homepage no longer displays posts.
Another option is to create a page and use it as your homepage and add widget area using this tutorial http://designsbynickthegeek.com/tutorials/add-widgeted-sidebar
and here http://www.briangardner.com/home-widget-area-eleven40/
You could also use the portfolio tutorial and display this page on the home page http://www.briangardner.com/portfolio-page/
Brad DaltonParticipant/** Customize the post info function */ add_filter( 'genesis_post_info', 'post_info_filter' ); function post_info_filter($post_info) { if ( !is_page() ) { $post_info = '[post_date] by [post_author_posts_link] [post_comments] [post_edit]'; return $post_info; }}
You can use this code to remove post info for the author based on conditional statements. You'll need to modify this code. http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags
This statement should work for the category jobs or you can use the cat i.d
! in_category( 'jobs' ) )
This tutorial will also help,http://www.briangardner.com/code/customize-post-info/
Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantYou can easily add easing slider using the Genesis Simple Hooks plugin.
Brad DaltonParticipantThere is a way to do pretty much anything with WordPress but i don't have the answer at the moment. Try wordpress.stackexchange.com
Brad DaltonParticipantYou'd need to change the logo image and you could also change the logo texture
Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantNot sure exactly where you got that code but you may be interested in another solution.
You can add text using the Archive Headline & Archive Intro Text fields for each category.
Another option is to install a plugin which also enables you to add HTML and images before your category archive pages.
Rich Text Tags, Categories, and Taxonomies plugin
This tutorial includes the correct code for adding a widget anywhere there;s a Genesis hook and you can change the conditional tag.
Brad DaltonParticipantThis tutorial contains multiple variations for creating widgets including conditional tags which is what you need. http://designsbynickthegeek.com/tutorials/add-widgeted-sidebar
You 'll need the correct conditional http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags
Brad DaltonParticipantIn order to link individual images to custom urls, you need to install the NGG custom fields plugin and create a custom field.
You then need to edit the plugin files and change some code.
The best place to get support for this plugin is on the specific forum for it. http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/nextgen-gallery
I would suggest you consider using the native WordPress gallery with a Carousel plugin or find another plugin if you're not prepared to edit plugin files and play around with code.
The native WordPress gallery doesn't allow you to link gallery images to custom url's however it does allow you to add images together vertically and horizontally as well as link images with custom urls as long as they aren't included in a gallery.
You can also add and remove image borders, as well as adjust spacing using the advanced image settings in WordPress.
Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantI think that's a normal responsive design where the sidebar displays below the content.
