Brad DaltonParticipant
I suggest you install WordPress locally using instantwp.com for Windows or MAMP for Mac and try the code again from this tutorial. Otherwise if coding is beyond you, you might need to hire someone for this small job.
You'll need to decide on exactly where you want to create the widget area using the hook reference, then you can add the correct hooks to the code so the new widget area display your slider in the location you want.
Here's a visual hook reference
The tutorial and code are spot on. Errors can occur when applying code incorrectly in your themes files.
Brad DaltonParticipantThere's nothing like that which i know of. You could hire someone to custom code this but its alot of work because you also want the dashboard GUI.
I understand you want to use different background images on the same page in different locations and also have access using a UI in the Dashboard.
Brad DaltonParticipantNegative. I tested this code and it works. It displays an image which you upload to your child themes images folder on the pages content area you have created the unique custom class in.
Brad DaltonParticipant.custom-body-class #content { background-color: #000; background-image: url ('images/bg.png'); }
Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantYou want the image within the content area of the page and Not the site background?
Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantGo to Layout Settings > Custom Body Class.
create a new class and use that as the specific selector for a specific page background
custom-body-class { background-color: #80000; background-image: url ('images/bg.png'); }

1. customize an existing Genesis landing page template
or
2. Install the Premise landing page plugin made by the people who make Genesis
Brad DaltonParticipantWhat are the exact dimensions of the image (width and height)?
Do you want it in the header or header right widget area?
January 31, 2013 at 4:30 am in reply to: Eleven40 – How to fix 'duplication' of welcome text widget? #16710Brad DaltonParticipantLooks like you've added a welcome text widget to the homepage which is hooked in here
genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap
This theme already uses a custom widget named the Page section which executes here
'genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap'
2 widgets in the same location is causing the duplication so you need to delete one.
Brad DaltonParticipantUsing Genesis Simple Hooks plugin, go to the WordPress Hooks > wp_head Hook and paste this code.
Find the page i.d you want to track and replace 200 with the page i.d for that specific page.
<?php if (is_page(200) ) { ?> <p>Facebook-Code-Goes-Here</p> <?php } ?>
Also replace Facebook-Code-Goes-Here with your tracking code.
This code includes a conditional tag so it only executes immediately before the closing head tag on the page with the I.D you place where the 200 is.
Brad DaltonParticipantThis one is pretty good http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar/
Brad DaltonParticipantHow about displaying the slider in your header or after your header but before the content area? Does this interest you?
Brad DaltonParticipantAnother option would be to the add the code here: Custom Tracking/Conversion Code in your Themes SEO settings.
Might not be able to do this if not using the Genesis SEO settings.
Does it need to be on a specific page or is it JS that needs to be between the opening and closing head tags?
Brad DaltonParticipantThis code only removes the header but not all elements.
remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_do_header' );
You can also remove the header right widget, site titles and description:
remove_action( 'genesis_site_title', 'genesis_seo_site_title' ); remove_action( 'genesis_site_description', 'genesis_seo_site_description' ); unregister_sidebar( 'header-right' );
Brad DaltonParticipantHere's what i see:
#title-area { float: left; overflow: hidden; padding: 20px 0; width: 250px; } .header-image #title-area, .header-image #title, .header-image #title a { display: block; float: left; height: 100px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0; text-indent: -9999px; width: 400px; }
There's an edit there that may be the problem but hard to say because this theme isn't included in the Pro Plus package.
/* My Edit */ border-top: 20px solid #000; }
Try removing this code and uploading the header with 100px height.

Brad DaltonParticipantPlace this code with your HTML using the Genesis Simple Hooks plugin field for genesis_after_footer Hook.
Align the HTML in your editor before pasting the code.
<?php if (is_home() ) { ?> <p>Code-Goes-Here</p> <?php } ?>
Note: You can only use conditional query tags after the posts_selection action hook in WordPress (the wp action hook is the first one through which you can use these conditionals). For themes, this means the conditional tag will never work properly if you are using it in the body of functions.php, i.e. outside of a function.
January 30, 2013 at 12:24 am in reply to: Looking For Feedback On Why My Posts Aren't Ranking #16335Brad DaltonParticipantThe problem isn't with your pages as you can see here all your urls are indexed:
http://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.headsupmotors.com
The problem is with your Domain Authority (16) and Page Rank (1/10) caused by a low amount of quality links.
Quality content is one thing, but promotion is important and increase links, Domain Authority and PR.
