I see the primary and secondary nav on both sites. So, you've fixed the problem? Was it related to Superfish js?

.site-inner { float: right; width: 760px; } .full-width-content .content { width: 760px; }
cheers!

Designer | Artist | TeacheraskdesignParticipantI'm having the same problem. I have a unique menu for the landing page. I've tried a few things:
1) Create a custom menu, place it into the Welcome widget, but I can't isolate the selectors for it in Firebug to style it in the CSS.
2) Create a custom menu and assign it to the secondary menu. I can't figure out how to reposition it underneath a tagline in the content area.still scratching my head.... help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

Designer | Artist | TeacheraskdesignParticipantThanks for the suggestion. I used the PHP Code Widget and it worked fine. But, I ended up adding a hook to my functions.php file that added the date before the sidebar widget area.

Designer | Artist | TeacheraskdesignParticipantHi Andrea, You were on the right track. I de-activated Cloudflare AND turned off my host's added feature "SuperCacher". Now, at least in Chrome, I can see the split sidebar: yay! I'm still not seeing it in Firefox or Safari, but I'm hoping the new cache-ing settings filter through eventually.
many thanks!

Designer | Artist | TeacheraskdesignParticipantHi Andrea,
Yes, I am using Cloudflare. Even when I flush the cache, the CSS doesn't show up in Firebug. My style sheet definitely has the code in it. Is there anything else I can do?
Thank you.

Designer | Artist | TeacheraskdesignParticipantHere's what I've discovered:
When you add an image to a page/post, one of the options is to select its size ("Attachment Display Settings"). Once the image is inserted, check the html code and delete the "width: xx" and "height: xx". The image will then be responsive.After inserting the image, sometimes you want to scale down the image. You can do this by clicking on the image, selecting the image icon, selecting "advanced settings" and the desired scale. But, this method re-inserts the width and height code that renders the image "un-responsive".
--One solution is to scale the image to the desired size before uploading to WordPress.
--Another solution is to scale the image by editing it in the Media Library.
With either solution, you still have to delete the "width" and "height" in the html code.cheers!

Designer | Artist | TeacheraskdesignParticipantI have the same question, hoping to discover the answer somewhere...
Anne S. Katzeff
Designer | Artist | TeacheraskdesignParticipantThere are 2 resources that got me on the right track:
(1) a chart comparing the old XHTML mark-up in Genesis vs. the new HTML5 markup
http://my.studiopress.com/docs/genesis-markup-comparison/(2) the CSS converter that changes the code for you:
http://cobaltapps.com/genesis-xhtml-to-html5-css-converter/The theme I use, Optimal, had been updated to HTML5. So, I used the converter tool to update my CSS customizations, which I add to the bottom of my child theme. There was also some tweaking to my functions.php file for importing Google fonts. The theme no longer uses the @import code; the functions file now does the job.
It did take some time for me to restore the site to its previous styling using the new coding. The header and navigation areas, in particular, required some tweaking. Good luck!

I discovered that the updated Optimal child theme no longer uses the @import function. Instead, there's a new line of code in the functions.php file for importing fonts. You can simply change the fonts to what you want:
//* Enqueue Lato Google font
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'genesis_sample_google_fonts' );
function genesis_sample_google_fonts() {
wp_enqueue_style( 'google-font', '//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Droid+Sans|Droid+Serif|Oswald', array(), PARENT_THEME_VERSION );
}

Designer | Artist | TeacheraskdesignParticipantHi Brad,
I installed the Simple Hooks plug-in and didn't know how to use it. So, if you do have a tutorial on it, please share.
thanks,
