I think the fix is easy. Change to:

    .on( 'scroll', function()

I want to make a correction to my above first post it's not being called an error it's being asked about because the way the function is written is being deprecated; does anyone have any other thoughts on this?

    Thank you!!

It's on a site that is using the same theme as a customer but is not public, I just use it for testing. I'm using that theme in a few places live though, one of them being:

https://topsidemarine.biz/ This site would most likely pull the same exact error...the example would be in the front-page.js file.

    Thank you for looking!!

Sorry, my title should read: Custom Post Type Archive Page not pulling title of page or read more link. Too tired when I posted that!

Wow Anita and Brad thank you! Makes me feel better that it will be kept updated, awesome I will try it!

Anita, all I want to do really is pull one featured 'reveiw' into a section on a home page; nothing to complicated; just didn't realize that the usual Genesis Post Type Widget didn't work with the CPT's 🙂 Now I know!

    Thank both of you!

Thank you Brad, I actually did see that but didn't mention it because it doesn't look like he's done anything it for a while... is that still ok to use?

Just seeing this and it's relevant to a project I have now with a Genesis based child theme.

    2 part Question:

I realize that the Featured Custom Post Types for Genesis plugin is not current. So first part of my related question is: is there a safe/current widget out there for displaying custom post types (with custom fields) in a widget that can be brought in to say a home page?

2nd part of my question. From Brad's comment above am I understanding that even the other plugin mentioned Six/Ten Press will not do what I need (that being displaying CPT'S via a widget on the home page); do I have that correct?

Any and all answers appreciated 🙂

Ok gotcha on the Studiopress stance, yep knew you were community volunteers but I thought maybe you knew of a link or something where someone from Sudiopress has mentioned or commented on Guetenberg. No worries understand your position!

Well that makes me feel better with it being compatible with plugins whew!

So did you notice anything different with the rest of your development sites as a result of Gutenberg plugin being installed; did anything break at all? Did it affect your styles at all in any way?

    Thank you!

Thank you for the reply Dave, sorry for my delay posting back!

I went to use that tool before posting originally and it says the the PHP Compatibility Checker isn't compatible with my versions of WordPress which is 4.8.2, says only tested up to 4.7.6 .... is it still safe to use??

    Thank you!

Ok wow I figured it out!

It was something added to my .htaccess file, that was added by SiteLock, (not their fault they were supposed to add it) I will just have to remember to re-add it after editing my widgets... sigh. What a pain!

Anyway I can at least edit my widgets!

Yes, I have... on all my sites, haven't checked those yet tho.

Well ok so Update: I just checked a test site of mine and it's running 4.8 and the code in the text widgets is showing.

I'm wondering if there might be something in my .htaccess file causing this???

This course is a few years old but it will tell you how to make a child theme which is the best way to utilize the Genesis Framework. Not sure how much they charge for this course but it's WELL worth it and you will have lifetime access to the class.... way back when I was learning about Genesis this got me going; see what you think, Rob's stuff is great and he builds on the Genesis framework.
