New to wordpress but not development, but would like to learn how to build one page/single page (like this: http://themes.janhoek.com/genesis-themes/jano/) from scratch for learning purposes. Since I don't have access to the HTML myself, I'm assuming I have to make a new template and go from there? How do I add hooks to the navigation so it can find the right place on the site? Any tutorials and instruction websites would be greatly appreciated, and more reading on this.

This course is a few years old but it will tell you how to make a child theme which is the best way to utilize the Genesis Framework. Not sure how much they charge for this course but it's WELL worth it and you will have lifetime access to the class.... way back when I was learning about Genesis this got me going; see what you think, Rob's stuff is great and he builds on the Genesis framework.

    Hi, thanks!

I would love to have specific ideas though for how to make a Genesis child theme into single page theme though, with link anchor and such.

I've already gone through Lynda.com for general child dev tutorials but would love more guidance on how to make this specific thing...
