I got a response from the developer after contacting him on his website. He was very kind and said that a fix is imminent.
Unfortunately, there has been no response to the queries about it. Several Genesis Themes still include this plug in as part of their set up instructions, so I was hoping to find some direction.
Any suggestions? We have lots of sites that use this plugin. It's been a good one.

Thank you for answering - my posts and others. I've found quite a bit of help from answers you have written to others, too.
In the Slider Settings, there is an option to "Do not link Slider image to Post/Page." You would have to create posts or pages for each image, then list the image numbers you want here: "list which page IDs to include / exclude. (1,2,3,4 for example)"
I had the same problem with Lifestyle, but when I went to Manage Themes>Customize>Site Title & Tagline I was able to uncheck the option.
For what it's worth, I'm having the same issue. I'm happy to share log in information with the admins.
BTW, thanks for the click and drag solution. You saved me having to submit a ticket!
I'm using the manual excerpt on both instances. I just am trying to figure out how one widget installation lets me do it, and the other one doesn't. Can you see something different I've done?
