I have been hesitant to download WordPress 5.0 and its subsequent versions (5.2.4 is available according to the Dashboard). It is my understanding that WordPress 5.3 is being released on or about 11/13/19. It seems that it is time for me to face the inevitable upgrade to WP 5.x.

When I do this, will my Agency Pro theme-based websites remain "as is" in terms of content and design/format, at least for the most part? Or will "updating" to WP 5.2.4 wreak havoc on my content and design/format?

May be a dumb question, but I would like to know the answer before diving in...

I plan on activating the Classic Editor plug-in after (or before?) downloading the latest version of WP 5 as I am not ready to start using Gutenberg yet.

According to the StudioPress website (accessed 11/6/19), on the My Themes page, the Agency Pro child theme is "Version: 3.1.5 Updated: 10/27/17" at the present time.

On the WP dashboard Appearances - Themes page, it shows that I have Genesis Version: 3.0.3 under the Agency Pro theme.

Thanks, and have a good day.

The look and feel of the website is not driven by WordPress. Look and feel is all Genesis/Agency Pro. There should be no impact when updating WordPress.

If you have doubts, create a development environment either locally or as a sub-directory on your site. Clone your main site to the development instance and update there first to test to make sure everything still works.
