    I'm using Essence pro and I'd like the option to have the hero images be gifs, video, parallax or even webgl. But I am having trouble figuring out where or how to add this capability. I'm also experimenting with Elementor page builder, so maybe I need to turn the hero image off all together?

    There have been a couple of tutorials done on this if you Google them, but they are behind a paywall where you need to subscribe to them.

    Line 220 in lib > header-functions.php contains the code which adds the header image however adding a video background isn't very easy nor will all browsers display it correctly.

    $bg_image = get_header_image();

    To add a gif should be easier.
