Thanks I was initially looking at using the main image/banner or as is with this theme background, not as a featured image- I have that
I am looking at a way to have the background image across my sitewebartscoMemberThanks Andrea- yes it looks good today = strange
1. Would you know how I can remove the shadow that is showing at the bottom of the background image- there is only one image in the media file, Thank you2. The images on the test site http://blogfromthebeach.com are rectangular and using the same style sheet and functions file they are square- this is the code I have
//* Add new image sizes
add_image_size('grid-thumbnail', 536, 150, TRUE);
add_image_size('single-thumbnail', 720, 250, TRUE);add_action ( 'genesis_entry_header', 'sk_show_featured_image_home' );
function sk_show_featured_image_home() {
if ( is_front_page() && has_post_thumbnail() ) {
echo '<div class="home-thumbnail">' . '';
genesis_image( array( 'size' => 'grid-thumbnail' ) );
echo '</div>';
}
}

Worked on the front page but on other pages the tagline almost disappears.
webartscoMemberThanks Brad and sdbroker. I'll see how I go with this advice.
webartscoMember>Did you re-size the image? How did you change the size from 493 to 300 height?
Sorry, I should have made that clearer. Different version of the original image.
I trimmed the 1349x493ps image to make it 1349x300px then uploaded the new image. When I refreshed the page the image showing was about 1349x510px and the image displaying was effectively cropped on the horizontal, presumably to retain the proportiality and still fill the whole space. Which I assume is the backstretch in action.
webartscoMemberI think I have sorted this, or it's sorted itself. I had a post that was not showing: I thought it was published but it was stuck on "Scheduled".
webartscoMemberWellReadReview - do you mean like the error message I got, as above?
webartscoMemberSo simple! I've been tearing my hair on this issue. Thanks for asking, haperez, and thanks for the answer, Susan.
webartscoMemberI tried that code in functions.php and when I tried to save got this error message
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_LNUMBER in /home/<username>/public_html/deswalsh.com/wp-content/themes/enterprise/functions.php on line 69
webartscoMemberThanks Ozzy - I appreciate that and will work on it.
webartscoMemberThanks Ozzy. I'm thinking that is not quite right, because the double image is not on the front page (I'm using the WP option of having a front page as a "non-blog" page and the blog on a blog post page http://deswalsh.com/blog which is where the doubling is taking place.
