vajrasarMemberOk, after pasting this in git, I realized the mistake. It was because of the wrong 'type' of single quote on 15th line in dynamic_sidebar.
Foolish mistake to make. :p

vajrasarMemberThanks a ton@rfmeier, I believe that will work smoothly.
I also found something same by Nick at - http://designsbynickthegeek.com/tutorials/conditional-loop-actions
Will mark the topic resolved as soon as I implement it. Thanks.

May 28, 2013 at 3:58 am in reply to: Different Headers on Different Post Types and Categories #42886vajrasarMemberHi brad,
If am right, the flow in which your suggested code works is -
1) It checks if am in category archive page
2) if yes and if it is category=1 (I chose cat 1 to test this)
3) it places my desired image in 'genesis header' hook (and the default header is pushed below which I can hide via CSS as you pointed)
Neat. But what I was trying to figure out is that, isn't there anyway by which the header can be literally replaced on our wish, by using some kind of filter or coding something?
Using Genesis from past a year I have seen that nearly all things are possible, so I was wondering if there could be a way!
If not, then your suggested method is perfect. But please do let me know if it is the only method.
Thanks a ton.

May 27, 2013 at 8:09 am in reply to: Different Headers on Different Post Types and Categories #42789vajrasarMemberAs you can see the header on huffington post's frontpage says "Huffington Post" but when you will go in categories like Politics, then you'll see "Huff Post Politics" in the header [ on the top ] .
We do not want need to do with the Featured Image, just the header image should be set different for every different category and custom post type.

May 27, 2013 at 7:08 am in reply to: Different Headers on Different Post Types and Categories #42784vajrasarMemberanitac, that is one way to do the stuff and I used that too in previous assignment. But this time, I need to change 'header image' on each category or custom post type. Much like what huffington post [ http://www.huffingtonpost.com ] do.
Am trying to use what Susan suggested and will revert back as soon as I get what I seek to achieve. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any else way in your mind.
Thank you for the reply.

May 27, 2013 at 2:03 am in reply to: Different Headers on Different Post Types and Categories #42774vajrasarMemberSusan, the plugin is awesome but to make it work, there is a code that should be pasted in header.php
So, I was wondering if you know how one can achieve that with genesis?

vajrasarMemberIn a recent project I was searching the same tweak along with many more things. I found nothing and eventually I used this -> [ http://genesissnippets.com/custom-comments-html-output-with-genesis-framework/ ] to customize the whole HTML output.

vajrasarMembera link of the site in context can help a lot.

vajrasarMemberfor this kind of stuff, use Genesis Visual Hook Guide plugin. It will precisely show you where you could hook stuff.
for now I believe you could use genesis before loop or genesis before content sidebar wrap.

vajrasarMemberAdd this to your style.css
`.trainers {
clear: left !important;
}`

vajrasarMemberOk, so using this approach in functions.php or in Simple Hooks won't be the best practice, right?

vajrasarMemberOk, referring to my above comment, I forgot that the 150 by 150 size is pre-defined with the name thumbnail in the settings. I would suggest you the steps pointed by @weslinda, as if you want the same image to show up on single and blog page then you may not need featured image option to be used.
Else, you can simply upload any image (150 by 150 in your case) in featured image section of post, when you do not want to show the main image of the post but some different image.

vajrasarMemberHave you tried registering the image size of 150X150 first in the functions.php and then setting that size in your Admin > Genesis > Theme Settings > Content Archive to get the result.
You may use this -
`add_image_size( 'custom-home', 150, 150, TRUE );`

vajrasarMemberThat is the default way how header works. Can you post the link? As you should not be having this problem as clicking header always gets you to the homepage.

vajrasarMemberHey, by the first look of your custom code, you have nit FETCHED the fields that you want to get shown.
You need to fetch the elements, for example - as we do the_content(); when we want content and the_title(); when we want title.

vajrasarMemberWell you can put this is your style.css, but I don't think that would be the standard approach -
`.entry-content img {
float: left;
margin-right: 10px;
}`
