@anitac. But I believe she is using Lifestyle Child Theme, if am not wrong!

vajrasarMemberThis one is also the same, as you too know.
The thing is, in my latest project I tried to go un-conventional and did not override the main loop, but that results in content showing above the header of the side when the page opens.
So, I was confused on the same. Because my code was not altering or even not doing anything in 'loop' but at the end I had to use this approach only.
Still in wait for the answer 🙂

vajrasarMemberHere also, author is doing this only ->
remove_action('genesis_loop', 'genesis_do_loop')
add_action('genesis_loop', 'gt_custom_loop')
my question is do it always has to be like this, that I have to override the main loop of genesis?

vajrasarMemberGenesis's inbuilt SEO is awesome itself, so you may not want to tinker with webmaster directly. I never did it and our company's website (News Portal) is running fine and with a good rankings.

Alternatively,
1) Install Google SiteMap Plugin -Â [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/]
2) OR, use WordPress SEO by Yoast - [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/]

vajrasarMemberYou can 'long press' the resource menu, and then release it. Then you'll be seeing Forums in drop down menu. Click on it.
This is what worked for me. 🙂

vajrasarMemberIf am right, what you are trying to suggest is the "Mobile Responsive" approach of doing/showing things when people access your sites from moblie.
There is an excellent write-up on this topic at Smashing Magazine -Â http://wp.smashingmagazine.com/2012/06/28/create-responsive-mobile-first-wordpress-theme/

vajrasarMemberWell, I always update regularly so I don't actually know about that. But, I believe if you update it, it won't be any problem.
BUT, be sure to take the backup of whatsoever is in your wp-conetnt->theme folder specifically. It would be awesome if you can backup the whole installation though (just for safe measure).

vajrasarMemberFor Sidebar positioning -
fix the width from 610px to 100% as -
#homepage{
 float: left;
 margin: 0;
 padding: 0;
 width: 100%;
}For updating, you can try the manual method.
1) backup everything.
2) download updated packages (of genesis, wordpress and theme)
3) replace existing packages via FTP or cPanel.

If yes, then you may want to download Genesis 1.9 and replace the old installation of genesis.
OR
[I don't know if this would work] You can try and insert this whole code in theme->genesis->header.php
