GingerParticipantHi Kimberly,
This means there is a syntax error in your functions.php file...you'll want to connect to your site via FTP or your host and delete what you entered, then start again.

GingerParticipantHi Kimberly,
Have a look at this page:
You want that first entry except use genesis_after_header on both your remove_action and add_action. When you're adding it back put a comma and a lower priority like this:
//* Reposition the primary navigation menu remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' ); add_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav', 5 );
The priority when not specified defaults to 10 and by making it lower priority it will get loaded first. I suspect its loading at a lower position after the header.
Hope this helps!

GingerParticipantHi Scott,
I was just using this tutorial for the same task:
Hope this helps!

GingerParticipantHi Amol,
Do you have another menu plugin enabled that might be causing the problem? When it doubt I always pull up the demo site, then right+click and go to Inspect Element and view the demo in a mobile frame:
http://demo.studiopress.com/altitude/
It's hard to read your CSS since minify is on but I see another js file in your menu area that might be causing the problem.
Hope that helps!

GingerParticipantHi Randy,
I stumbled across an older article on Carrie Dil's site about sorting AgentPress Listings and thought of this thread. The article for reference is here:
http://www.carriedils.com/sort-agentpress-listings-by-price/
I used her code and changed it up to sort randomly. I honestly didn't think it was that easy.
Drop this in your functions.php file:
//add random sort order to the Listings query add_action( 'pre_get_posts', 'gsc_listing_random_sort_order' ); function gsc_listing_random_sort_order( $query ) { if( $query->is_main_query() && !is_admin() && is_post_type_archive( 'listing' ) ) { $query->set( 'orderby', 'rand' ); $query->set( 'posts_per_page', '6' ); } }
Reference link for how I learned to change the order to random. This is from the WordPress codex:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Query#Order_.26_Orderby_Parameters
Hope this helps! Remember, a word of caution when editing your functions.php file -- one typo and you can cause your site to white screen so make sure you have FTP or file access.

GingerParticipantOk, so you'll be using the AgentPress Listings plugin. You can change the top margin so the search is right underneath the welcome message. You can find that here in your style.css file:
.home-featured .widget.property-search, .home-featured .widget.property-search:last-child { margin: 200px 0 0; padding: 30px 20px; max-width: 100%; }
The line that starts with margin: 200px is the key, you can reduce the 200 to bring it up closer to the middle, underneath the welcome message. If you go this route remember to adjust the same margin your media queries at the end of the style.css so it appears consistent on mobile devices.

GingerParticipantHi Randy, that first link in my response above is to the support area for the AgenfPress Listings support area.

GingerParticipantIf found it! The theme us using images as backgrounds in the nav area.
Look for these sections in your style.css file and comment them out or remove them. When you do your lighter orange will be visible.
.outreach-orange #nav { background: url(images/orange/nav.png); }
/* Header / Primary / Secondary Navigation ------------------------------------------------------------ */ #nav { background: url(images/nav.png); }

GingerParticipantHi Randy,
This is not a theme specific question, but more of a question for the AgentPress Listings plugin support area:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/agentpress-listings
That said I did a quick search through the WordPress plugin repository but only found this one that appears a bit old:
https://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/posts-order-widget
There is a way to change the sort order of the query that brings back the listings to random, but I would check with the plugin support to see if they have another solution.

GingerParticipantHi there,
Are you going to use IDX or the AgentPress Listings plugin that is used in the AgentPress Pro demo?
@gscoolidge | Support Nerd | Website Producer/Tweaker | IDX Integrations | Hosting Options
GingerParticipantHi Randy,
This would change the site-header background (or wrap) to the full width, the max-width line is the addition:
.site-header .wrap { background-color: #1a212b; color: #fff; max-width: 100%; }
If you want the site title and nav-menu to remain where they are , you'd want to adjust the padding and/or margins on those to bring back towards the center. Those are separate entities so you'd need to adjust each one. The best way to do that is to use Inspect Element and experiment while viewing the browser until you position everything where you'd like it. Be sure and test mobile views in case they need adjusting as well.

GingerParticipantMy pleasure Bob, maybe you can pay it forward if you see a question you might be able to answer 🙂

GingerParticipantHey at least it's moving! 🙂 Try giving it a lower priority....when you load multiple things on the same hook you need to give it a lower number (default priority is 10) for those items you want to show first. That Query Monitor plugin I mentioned can tell you what is loading where.
Your code in functions.php that is repositioning the header:
add_action( ‘genesis_before’, ‘genesis_header_markup_open’, 5 ); add_action( ‘genesis_before’, ‘genesis_do_header’ ); add_action( ‘genesis_before’, ‘genesis_header_markup_close’, 15 );
Has 5 as the lowest so I bet the utility bar is loading at the default of 10 and squeezing in before the markup close at 15. Again that Query Monitor output would tell you for sure.
So, I would try this to move the utility bar above the header:
add_action('genesis_before', 'utility_bar', 2 );

GingerParticipantFor wanting the header white, in your style.css, look for #header and remove the background image and change it to the color white:
Remove this:
background: #090909 url(images/header.png) center repeat-y;
Add this in it's place:
background-color: #fff;
The orange is a different shade I believe since you have an old version of Outreach (v1.8) and it's been updated to Outreach Pro (v3.1). Using Inspect Element in your Browser, notice on the demo the orange shade of the background menu is
background-color: #ff7b00;
Change your orange background menu color to that and it will match.
On the slider section, increase the slider side to encompass the full width of that section and the textured background should go away.

GingerParticipantHi there,
Your best friend will be the theme setup instructions....follow those and you can easily set everything up like the demo:

@gscoolidge | Support Nerd | Website Producer/Tweaker | IDX Integrations | Hosting Options
GingerParticipantHi Bob,
Ok, I think I see whats going on, I didn't realize you'd moved the header and footer outside of the main wrap. In looking at another post from Carrie on this topic, she gives an example of how to move something above the now-disconnected header, so give this a try with your new utility bar -- it's just removing one word
add_action( ‘genesis_before’, ‘utility_bar’ );
One other pro-tip....there is a great plugin called Query Monitor that shows you a bunch of geeky stuff :-), but the most useful might be the action hooks and what is loading where.
@gscoolidge | Support Nerd | Website Producer/Tweaker | IDX Integrations | Hosting Options
GingerParticipantHi Bob,
Well now it's moved down another position, hmm, can you send the code that you've added to your functions.php file so I can have a look? Also include any remove/add action entries for your navigation changes since it's different in the theme demo. Regarding the theme, just an FYI the link of the site is for the LIfestyle Pro theme, not the Streamline Pro theme .

GingerParticipantHi Bob,
Did you put this on the genesis_before_header hook? It looks like it could be on the after_header along with your primary navigation menu?

GingerParticipantHi Will,
The Home-Bottom widget area is styled and expecting the Genesis eNews Extended widget to be placed in there and is styled for that in a horizontal format.
To change this I would have a look in your style.css file and see how the home-middle widget area is styled since that is basically what you want , just use width values of 33% anywhere you see 25% to give you 3 vs 4 widget spaces. As always keep a backup of your original style.css file handy in case you need to refer to it pre-changes.
Hope this helps!
