MemberWordPress SEO actually appeared to cause this problem! If I re-install it are you saying I could possibly revert back to Genesis SEO after? I have numerous other sites with the same theme and SEO settings and only this one gives me problems.
Perhaps a silly question! My site is hosted with Pressable who do not use Apache but nginx. Perhaps I'm mistaken but I believe when changing SEO settings and permalinks in any WordPress site it will automatically edit the htaccess file. Pressable informed me any changes to the htaccess file would not work! Could this be the root of the problem although it's very strange as my other sites with exactly the same theme and settings work fantastic!
BTW I really appreciate your support

MemberHi Sridhar
Unfortunately the issue started with Yoast which is one reason I removed it and set up Genesis SEO. Would changing the posts to pages fix this? My high page rank in Google has been effected and I believe pages rank just has high!

MemberHi Sridhar
My url is http://www.funeventsasia.com
I found other posts in the forums with the same kind of replies. I posted to a photographer to assist him as he wasn't getting support and I got blocked from the WordPress forums!!
I will write an in depth blog on this.
Appreciate any support you may have 😉

MemberWhat I have just discovered is that in the Google Webmaster I had not set the 'preffered domain' as with my other sites!
On the Webmaster Tools Home page, click the site you want.
Click the gear icon , and then click Site Settings.
In the Preferred domain section, select the option you wantYou need to chooses whether to use www or not. This could be the cause. I'll revert back in a few days
ToniLaird
MemberI've made a few changes but as Google is not 'real time' I'll have to wait around 5 days to see if it works!

MemberI've just posted a support ticket as I am also getting getting 'duplicate title tags' /, /page/2/, /page/3/, /page/4/
However, these pages all revert back to the static home page!Nandita, did Robin's fix work for you as I may well try it?

MemberHi Tom, I use the inspector in Chrome but the problem is I cannot solve where to remove all link underlines as it doesn't appear to be in the style.css!
user agent stylesheet !!
I even scrolled down the style.css but assume it's not there. I'm sure and hope that from the thousands of members someone has done this 😉 Everything else I have edited is with the Chrome Inspector without problems
ToniLaird
MemberThanks. It's the easiest theme I have ever worked with.

MemberThanks Andrea. It works fine 😉

MemberSorry Brad I should have written I did that already but instead of giving me the style.css and line it only shows this:
user agent stylesheet
Where is this?
ToniLaird
MemberThanks Brad. I always assumed Jetpack slowed down sites by numerous posts I've read in the past hence never use it?
Perhaps I shouldn't be asking here but where do I remove all the underlines in links? looks much cleaner without them.

MemberI like the colours Steve. Works well with the greens especially the wood background

MemberThank you Tom. I've already taken your advice and started to write as I should!
Yoast has given me a good insight into SEO but I don't like adding the keywords at the beginning of everything. It doesn't look natural and as you wrote 'moving a few words about in your post title should not cause you SEO frustrations'
I've come across quite a few posts that say as you have; write for your readers!
Thanks again for your comments and taking the time to give some support.

MemberI have to admit SEO adjustments drive me crazy. Before switching to genesis I used Yoast WordPress SEO and when adding my keyword it tells us to add it to the beginning of the post title, post content and as an image 'alt tag'
So my title reads e.g. Build a Bike Charity Events. Helping Children. 'Build a Bike' is the keyword. (added to title, beginning of post, alt image tag, meta tags description etc
Your suggested title looks and reads much better “Support children’s charities with a Build-A-Bike event!” but Yoast SEO gives me warnings!
This is where the frustrations arise! Should I simply ignore all the rules and write as you suggested and to be honest as should! This is another reason I switched to genesis; to use the built in SEO

MemberHi Tom
It's ok I got it! It was a simple edit in the slider style.css at the top! I made the change and added the image size and it's showing as it should. Many thanks again for your much appreciated support.

MemberThank you Tom for the in depth support/review. Where do I add the css? style.css theme or style.css slider? I thought that was the slider style! LOL oops
I changed the left/right widgets to show Titles and no content. It does look much better thanks! 😉
When you wrote 2 sentences I assume you meant remove the 'full stop'?
Run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin .. I don't think I have one!
I was just looking to add some more widgets when your reply came. 😉

MemberThank you Brad.
I found a post in MOZ stating it's ok to have a longer title, so I'll leave as is at the end of my title.
