SusanModeratorWere you able to get your issue resolved?
If not, you might ask over at the plug-in support forum here:SusanModeratorThe ability to edit a post is disabled after a period of time (I'm not sure of the length of time) - if there is a post which you need edited, let me know, and I can go ahead and edit it for you.
SusanModeratorIt's been a while since you posted this question. Were you able to get your issue resolved?
SusanModeratorYou're welcome. 🙂 I will close this thread as resolved. Go ahead and start another thread if you have any more questions.
SusanModeratorKent - did you find a solution to this? My thought would be to add a text widget under the slider - it's not a post per se, but it would be content that would remain there until updated by your client.
April 7, 2013 at 7:59 am in reply to: Premise: can I make all subscribers of my list free members? #33684SusanModeratorHi, Adam:
I don't own Premise, so I don't have an answer, but I just wanted to check in to see if you got this resolved?
SusanModeratorDid you ever get this issue resolved?
SusanModeratorI don't have a suggestion for a plugin, but since you haven't had any responses to your question, I thought I would offer a suggestion - what about creating a category, and just allowing people to search by category (perhaps add a menu item with the category to your navigation?
SusanModeratorIt sounds like you want to remove the grid loop altogether, and just have your latest posts on your home page? If so, the easiest way to accomplish this is to rename your home.php (something like "oldhome.php") in your theme folder on your hosting site.
Then, make sure that under Settings > Reading, you set the number of posts you wish to appear on the front page.

SusanModeratorCeeKing - it's not recommended that you "resurrect" a thread - you are less likely to have someone catch it as an update, as it doesn't show as a new thread.
To access your site via FTP, use these instructions by Nick The Geek . If you are only familiar with doing it by Cpanel, you can still fix the error by uploading a fresh PHP file, and replacing the one currently in your theme folder.
SusanModeratorGrandchild themes are poor practice so should be avoided, as would be modifying the child theme directly. This would prevent easy updating of the child theme.
Modifying the child theme as far as I am aware, is the only way that you are going to be able to customize a theme. Since child themes are only rarely updated, it's usually not an issue to worry about what happens when a theme is updated - tell the client not to automatically update the child theme, or customization will be lost.
When I make changes to a theme, I usually make notes in either the stylesheet or the PHP to keep track of changes I've made, should I need to update them further.
SusanModeratorI'm closing this thread as "resolved", as Jenn contacted me through the Pretty Darn Cute support desk to work on the issue with theme set-up.
