    Hi all,

I'm new and just set up my site over the weekend. I'm noticing that today and yesterday, every time I add an image to my blog post, it shows double on my blog page, but only once on its single/individual page. Make sense? If I remove the picture, it doesn't show on the single page but shows once on the main blog page. What's up with that?

I'm using the Adorable theme. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Uncheck the Include Featured Image in Genesis > Theme Settings > Content Archives
    or
Remove the function before_post_image for displaying a post image from your child themes functions.php file.

Can someone tell me why this happened, since, according to the Adorable theme's installment instructions said to click the Featured Post box? I'm not familiar with featured posts. I've never used them, not even before purchasing genesis and the child theme. I've been wondering why I can't get the home page to display the way the sample Adorable theme does. 🙂

To have the home page on the Adorable theme look like the demo, you need to fill in each of the widget areas.

Adorable Theme setup instructions (you have to be logged in on Lindsey's site to view the tutorials)

Yes, I used her instructions to set it up the first day, but wasn't successful. So every single of the widget areas and not just one or two? I tested it with only a couple, to see how it would look, and I didn't see anything. 🙂

Since her instructions say to have the Featured Post box checked, and Brad says to uncheck it so I won't show double images, will it still set up properly if it's unchecked?

    Thanks!

Brad is talking about Featured IMAGE, not Featured Post - they are two completely separate things.

You should go ahead and set up each widget area so you have the idea of how the whole site looks compared to the demo, then if you decide you don't need to use those widgeted areas, you can remove content from them.

(PS - I provide support over at the Pretty Darn Cute support desk when I'm not here...)

Ah, yes, I used the wrong word. 🙂 Sorry about that. But according to Lindsey's tutorial, the Featured Image box is to be checked.

I'll go through it again, add something to each widget area and see how it looks. Thanks.

Well, I followed the tutorial a second time and put widgets in each area and it still doesn't show up. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, unless there's something more specific with what I insert into the widget areas?

Jenn - if you feel comfortable with letting me know your login information, you can either shoot me an e-mail (my contact information is in my signature), or submit a support ticket through the Pretty Darn Cute support forum and I will pick it up - I'll take a look and troubleshoot for you.

I'm closing this thread as "resolved", as Jenn contacted me through the Pretty Darn Cute support desk to work on the issue with theme set-up.
