I can see where that would be beneficial.
SusanModeratorIt looks like you have this resolved? I'm not seeing a little gray background. If it isn't resolved, can you maybe include a screenshot pointing to what you area referring to?
SusanModeratorNice job!
The only feedback I would give is that I'm seeing your tagline covering your title a little (well, the orange of your title). Was that deliberate?
SusanModeratorThe light blue background is actually an image. Look for this in your stylesheet. Change the color of the image.
/* Wrap
------------------------------------------------------------ */#wrap {
-moz-box-shadow: 0 0 25px #16333f;
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 25px #16333f;
background: url(images/wrap.png);
border-left: 5px solid #f0f4f6;
border-right: 5px solid #f0f4f6;
box-shadow: 0 0 25px #16333f;
box-sizing: border-box;
margin: 0 auto;
width: 1060px;
padding: 0;
}SusanModeratorWhen I clicked on the title, image, or "read more" on the post you linked to, it took me to the blog post here:
http://sunshinememoirs.com/genealogy-of-my-family/
so, it looks like you resolved your issue?
SusanModeratorTry this plugin:

SusanModeratorHave you tried the Genesis Responsive Header plugin?
SusanModerator🙂
SusanModeratorThe Home-Top is a widget area, so you would just drag the WP-Cycle to that area.
SusanModeratorWhat do you want to have on your home page? You could set it to display a static page, rather than your latest posts.
SusanModeratorGo to: http://my.studiopress.com/help/ - fill out a support ticket, and use the "Genesis 2.0 Beta Bug Report" dropdown as the subject.
SusanModeratorSadly, I don't live in New York, so can't assist in person. If you're happy to do something via skype or an online meeting, visit me online here: http://www.graphicallydesigning.com/contact.
In the meantime, I've tweeted a link to this post to see if anyone in my network is in the NYC area.
SusanModeratorDoes your theme have support for a custom header? If so, go to Dashboard > Appearance > Header, and upload the image there.
If it doesn't have support for the header, you could either add support for the header in your functions.php file, or update your stylesheet with the URL for the header.

SusanModeratorI'm hoping to be able to play with it next week (going to my first WordCamp this weekend, so won't have time to do it before then).
May 16, 2013 at 10:31 am in reply to: SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCES How To Contribute To WordPress #41215SusanModeratorThanks for sharing!
SusanModeratorThe simple social icons are not a "sharing" tool - they are designed to have people visit you on other social media. You could probably configure the stylesheet for the plugin to have them as sharing buttons, but that's not their basic functionality.
If you want to learn how to configure social sharing buttons, this might be a good place to start:
SusanModeratorThanks, Brad.
I think it needs a call to action, too - just haven't had the chance to do it yet.
I put the images in the computer screen using picmonkey.com (free image editing site). I got the computer screen through a stock photography site (I use bigstock.com); the Epik theme uses the same images. I loaded them into the three widget areas on the home page. It was pretty easy once I figured out the right size to use! 🙂
