A user on the Genesis Facebook group solved this issue for me. For those searching in the future, this lady's solution worked WONDERFULLY for me πŸ™‚

    Hello,

Sorry to dig up an old post but I'm looking for a solution to the same problem. However, (sadly) the GFWA plugin does not work for me (the option to set the content limit doesn't work and no 'read more' button appears after each entry.)

Is there another way to limit the length of characters of the post title in the featured post widget without using this plugin? A snippet of code for my functions file perhaps?

Many thanks in advance if you can help.

I found a rather crude way (I'm guessing?) of doing it from another post:

If anyone can tell me if there's a "neater" or "proper" or "better way" of doing it, I will change it. But for now, using this code & saving as category.php works great πŸ™‚

After trying several solutions, I'm still stuck πŸ™

Any ideas...? Β Or if I'm not explaining my problem clearly let me know, I'll try again!

    Hi Brad,

If you look at my Paste bin code, you'll see that's where I got most of the code from πŸ˜‰

It's great, but my custom title & desc for the category aren't outputting where they should be.

IE) my code is probably right, but in the wrong order.

I just need someone to point out where I'm going wrong.

    Cheers πŸ™‚
