I tried to copy the CSS for the elements but could only copy one line at a time. I tried changing several areas but couldn't see how it was created and why some of the spacing was different.
I have difficulty understanding why the same stuff generates different outputs. I use Genesis with Lifestyle Pro.
All help appreciated.
strifemitMemberThank you Victor. I am aware of the inspection tool and will look at your article. Looking at it and working it out not so easy. PS I have that picture on my website too.
strifemitMemberThank you. I have inserted the first part which now works fine on my registration page. I am not sure where to add the second lot of code or what it does. I'd also like to add recaptcha onto the login page. Do you know how I do that?
strifemitMemberThanks once more for that. I asked my web hoster and they updated the php which fixed the problem.
strifemitMemberPerfect and once more thanks. I knew it was something simple.
strifemitMemberFantastic - Easy Genesis is just what I wanted. Thank you so much. If you know of any other installs plugins that make stuff easy to change without writing code - let me know.
strifemitMemberOne more thing? How did I manage to get the robot size to work but couldn't do the same with the training picture? Will it work if I edit the picture before I upload them?
strifemitMemberWow you really are helpful. I will try this out and work through the course links you sent which will hopefully reduce my frustrations. You are amazing and what a world we would have if we could all hep each other.
Thanks awfully.
strifemitMemberYou are amazing. Thanks so much. I'll definitely work through the course.
Much appreciated.
strifemitMemberIt is supposed to be easy but it isn't that obvious and I have tried everything apart from pulling my hair out. Some things work but others don't change anything.
I still can't make the changes I want. The link you sent me is about inspector and the examples make sense. But colours are simple. It doesn't help with other areas.
I am adding another topic on pictures which is also driving me mad.
Is there an online class which helps people work through their CSS?
strifemitMemberThanks for the speedy reply.
I'll do some more testing to see if I understand more and get it to sink in.
When I look at the links on the right there seems to be a line above and a line below each link and the link sits at the top of the box. IE against the line above. It probably doesn't matter because the links is roughly how I want it anyway. I am just trying to understand it more.
I am still struggling to work out how I reduce the space between for example Website Explained and the picture/text; in this case text A little ... and the robot.
Your help is really appreciated. I don't know where you reside but do have a variety of coffees for my Nespresso.
strifemitMemberHi
The example tells me how to change colours but nothing with fonts etc. I have played around quite a bit and you may be able to see that I have reduced the height of headings. I also managed to reduce the gap between Facebook and the logo. However I can't find how to change the gap between below headings main page or sidebar. I notice the links on the right are at the top of the box and I can't find out how to change that. I am beginning to understand but it isn't as straight forward as Studiopress indicate. Any useful pointers please?strifemitMemberExcellent. Thank you. That link is new to me. I'll work through it and hopefully I can then identify the area I want to change.
Thanks a lot.
strifemitMemberOnce more brilliant. Thanks
strifemitMemberHi
Thank you for that. The message I got was different to the post. Email has .widget ul > li but post has .widget ul > li
What is the difference?
It certainly looks a lot better. Do you know how I can stop the links with two lines from slightly merging,
strifemitMemberFabulous. Just what I wanted.
strifemitMemberNo I didn't get it working. I did something to make it look cleaner but it isn't the solution.
I am currently overseas so will not be working on it again until the week after next.
strifemitMemberHi Dave
Late reply because I a in Singapore at the moment without much time to work on my websites. I have read up on inline styling, unfortunately I find the explanations a little technical using lots of jargon and I am probably called a slow starter. But when it sinks in I move faster.
I have assumed fro my reading that the inline styling is what I can find in the style.css file or have I got that wrong?
strifemitMemberThank you Victor. Could you explain that a little more please or point me to somewhere that can explain this? Where will I find <p style=”text-align: left;”>?
strifemitMemberEureka! I found it. I disabled:
.featured-content .entry {
text-align: center;and it was left justified. I found this in my style.css and updated it to align left and it worked. What I can't understand is why the align left didn't work on all pages. I realise it changed back to center when there was more than one paragraph. Can anyone explain why for me?
