MemberI am using digital ocean with my current web hosting. What I did when I first moved over to them (the new web host) a year ago was contact the new webhost and just use there migration service so I didn't have to do this myself and followed there advice in which left zero downtime. I had 1 blog and 1 test blog moved over. Other blogs still on another web host that semi alive.
Don't get me wrong I know how to migrate forums and blogs to a new web host because I've did it myself but these days I don't want to, either the host provides this for free, or I'll pay whatever fee they are charging and tell them that limit any downtime to like nothing if possible. 🙂

MemberIf you have the free Yoast SEO plugin installed, the redirects should happen automatically. I've noticed this when I move a blog post to a different category myself.
The link Victor posted is a very good read.

MemberDo make sure you double check in your genesis settings tab to see if you have enabled auto-updates. Sometimes it happens you don't get the upgrade notice but all you have to do is what Victor mention,.
Oops I left my real email showing. Email me anyways if you are bored and want to talk. This goes for anyone. 🙂

MemberGood Luck. My 3rd time I ran a facebook campaign it actually gave me the results I wanted because I didn't read online how to use FB Ads the correct way till I wasted money on 2 campaigns that brought me no steady traffic or sales. I picked a lot of settings that did not help me. lol
<--- Now does research and get's a plan on paper before running any paid campaign's.
See you around the forum sometime.

MemberSorry for taking so long to review your blog. Better late then never. 🙂
The homepage is outstanding and very well designed besides the color combination. Perfect homepage for sure.
I see in the top right hand corner your have a menu link called "Websites" What is that all about? I tried to hover my mouse over this and no alt-text appearED because I don't know what that word means. Of course I ended up clicking on it. Maybe change the wording for this menu link so it's clear what you will see when clicking on it. You know catchy wording like: Your future starts here. Ok, I am bad at catchy phrases but I hope you know what I;m trying to say here.
In your footer, Is that your business phone number? For some reason it's a clickable link on my screen but if you click on it nothing does happen. Not sure if you want to delink that or not because people have to physically pick up there phone to dial it. I am using IE11 btw to review your blog.
I love what you did on the CONTACT page. Very professionally done.

MemberI don't know if you did further changes from the last time you replied here but I can't find anything wrong with your theme tweaking.
For once, well just for today, i'm speechless. 🙂

Memberoops you created a thread in the wrong forum but you will still get help from me.
Yes you can add a forum to your blog. All you would have to do is add a link to your menu bar or someone on your blog. You know make it noticeable that HEY, I HAVE A FORUM to your visitors.
Studiopress uses this software for this forum right here.
They must of did some customization to it because this looks better then the demo version or they used some plugins for BBpress .
Look through that plugin database, I'm sure there are plugins to prevent spammers and give you other features to protect your forum.

MemberI am not sure how new that blog post is that Victor shared but I found something else that's more up-to-date I believe.
When the framework updates and even wordpress does an update, you may have to make a few tweaks to your theme to capitalize off the new changes. Not sure if that blog post has valid information.
StudioPress has a sorta basic beginners guide if you make sure you logged into your account. https://my.studiopress.com/docs/building-child-themes/
Study that and learn stuff and also check out these links to further improve your knowledge.
It's worth it to get this below from a very good Genesis Framework theme developer.
https://www.lynda.com/Genesis-tutorials/WordPress-Genesis-Building-Child-Themes-from-Scratch/421805-2.html (Not affiliate link, I google for the URL)
She has more courses that might interest you as well on her official blog. http://www.carriedils.com/courses/
Don't be in a rush to create your custom theme, take your time as you keep on learning you can keep tweaking things and come up with a beautiful design. I'm not a designer but long time ago when I had a forum before I sold it, I hired a designer and invested money into a custom design before I even went live with the forum. The long wait for the completed version was worth it.
Wait for more advice from members here as well. The more information you have the more knowledgeable you will be.

MemberI have the Yoast premium version but on the Free version there is a built in sitemap feature so you do not need any other sitemap plugins installed. Having another one installed along with the built in one Yoast has will cause issues for sure.
Yoast even mentioned this on his knowledge base site. Read here how to set up the sitemap feature.

Another one to read as well http://kb.yoast.com/article/164-how-to-connect-your-website-to-google-webmaster-tools

MemberWhat SEO plugins did you install? I want to know which ones because I could help you with Guides on how to properly setup that one plugin so your blog is SEO friendly and indexable.
It might take a few days to a week or months to get your blog ranked well in the searching engines for your keywords. Installing a plugin and a sitemap will help but it's not gonna make things instant and bam tomorrow you type in your keywords and your blog is listed in the first page. Getting ranking well for your keywords is a never ending battle. You got to work hard all the time to get rankings and as well keep them.
Here is a good blog post to read. http://neilpatel.com/2016/04/16/how-to-integrate-long-tail-keywords-in-your-blog-posts/

MemberGuess I'll post a short review then. I didn't even know you was a member of StudioPress. lol
Wait a second, there is nothing to suggest review wise, excellent job. Maybe I can find a spelling mistake to fail you on this review but it's hard right now.
Maybe on the FAQ page to add bullet's next to the questions. I was thinking that the questions be clearly noticeable...etc
I remember reading an article about your site the day it launched. I'll be using this eventually it's already saved in my favorites from awhile ago.

MemberI love your blog... O wait, I need to do a review. lol
The theme is awesome and I'll try to mention stuff to help you out.
For some odd reason on the ABOUT PAGE, I can not view the images posted in the ABOUT US write up. They shrink so small I can not see them. Try clearing your cache if you still see them because I don't.
I'm using IE11 and yes I know it's a stupid browser but some folks still use it. 🙂
The product pages are so detailed and I did not even expect that. Great job on doing this. I think you need a better social sharing plugin like the paid one I use. http://www.elegantthemes.com/plugins/monarch/
For example of it's use, visit my blog and look at the social followers widget in my sidebar besides the typical buttons on the left side of blog post and blog page. This my opinion and you can keep what you got. I was just trying to suggest something that looks nicer to go with this awesome theme.

Does the thread creator need any further help or is this thing taken care of?

MemberCongrats on fixing all of this. I'm sure your head was spinning for a few days. lol
This was my first 3rd party theme I bought when this theme was first launched. I don't use it now as I don't own that blog I had it on before. Gonna give my 2 cents on your linked blog.
First of all, I am not hungry and thanks for sharing the URL. 🙁
No issue at all with the homepage look/design. The sticky menu bar is nice and great job on doing that. On the blog page you know the side column has "recipe ideas" are those the categories or something? I'm a little lost with this column. Maybe the title needs to be changed or something. No search feature on the blog? Or is it not important for this type of blog? Just asking you as you know what the client wants.

MemberI used to use it when it first came out but on another theme now. I'm having a hard time finding blogs online using this theme as a lot of bloggers customize there studiopress themes so much it's hard to tell what theme they even bought. lol
I just found 1 site using this theme (FYI, I don't own any and not affiliated with any)
http://stephenahart.com/
http://zoerescuewalk.com/
http://thiscreativelab.com/Ok that took awhile to find these websites. lol
Remember you can customize the theme even further then what you see on the example blogs. Get free help with that on this forum if none of the tutorials help you.

MemberI've heard of this person before, wow... you did the design huh.
The mobile version isn't bad at all. I checked it using our own tool we have here. http://www.studiopress.com/responsive/
I do agree with the above posters response but the small details matter a ton when it comes to statistics. (spelled that wrong huh?)
What about putting a captcha on the support contact page? Or does the owner have something in there to block spammers from using the contact form?
The menu bar at top plus that cool little icon/image showing in top right hand side on the homepage sorta need an alt-text on them. You know, hover your mouse over the world and text appears. Especially that image I was referring to, what is that? lol
Am I getting way to anal with my review? I have a problem in doing this a lot and don't want to knock you down. Over-all fantastic job and holy cow I like the image designs.
