Hi!
You can try adding
background-size: contain
to.site-title a
in your CSS, but you may need to use media queries to get the mobile devices to look exactly right. I think you will end up needing to tweak your min-height sizes as well.I hope that points you in the right direction!

nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberTony,
I don't have experience with this plugin, so your questions may be better answered on the support forum for the plugin itself:
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/dd-lastviewed
In answer to your third question, Truncate excerpt 78 refers to how many characters of the post text will display. So the number 78 is supposed to only show the first 78 characters of the post. You can set it to any number you want, depending on how much text you want.

nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberHello,
This is very hard to diagnose without being able to see what it looks like right now. Would you be able to at least post a picture of what you are seeing?
My first thought would be, have you tried negative values to pull it back into your border?
nerdworkerMemberHello!
You will need to change the header css to target the @media queries for the devices where it doesn't look right. Then you would alter the css for things like the header height, width, and background-size to find what works for your site. That way, those settings will change only when someone is viewing them with the specific devices.
I hope that points you in the right direction.

Stefanie

I'm not exactly sure what effect you are trying to achieve, but would it help to make the header transparent so the body image shows through? So instead of using a background-image, you would use background-color: transparent;
I hope that helps. If not, perhaps try to explain the desired effect more or mock up an image.

nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberVicki,
I notice that you've had some answers on that thread to get you started - the most recent was this morning.
I will also add that one tool that helps me check responsiveness of sites for different devices is this one:
http://lab.maltewassermann.com/viewport-resizer/
You can then check sizes while in your browser.
You may want to close this thread since your original one has activity on it now.

nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberTony,
Could you explain more about what you mean by nothing happens? Also, I notice that you wanted to have the thumbnails show, which that plugin doesn't do. I found this alternate plugin that does show thumbnails that may work better for you. I haven't tried it, but it may help you:

April 14, 2014 at 4:00 pm in reply to: Placing sidebar to right of content ipad portrait view – Lifestyle Pro #100308nerdworkerMemberHi Elaine,
This can be achieved through media queries in your CSS, which dictate the responsive breakpoints.
You would target the size of a portrait iPad (which is 768x1024), then alter the width of the content and sidebar.
Something like this:
@media only screen and (min-device-width : 768px) and (max-device-width : 1024px) and (orientation : portrait) { .content { width: X%; } .sidebar { width: X%; }
I hope that points you in the right direction.

nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberCK,
It's possible to create custom post types and fields in WordPress. This is something separate from Genesis.
This can be accomplished with custom coding, or with a plugin to assist you. There are different ways to go about it, but one popular plugin you may want to check out is Types:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/types/
I haven't used this plugin myself, but I hope it can help you out.

nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberIt appears as though you figured this out since you posted this. When I view your site, your logo appears on the left. 🙂

nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberMike,
I have not taken this course, I only know about it and have seen it discussed:
http://www.prowebdesigncourse.com/
It's not cheap, though. It is very in-depth and detailed and I believe it does cover Genesis in the later topics. Not sure if this kind of thing is what you meant by "more formal training," but I thought I would share it, just in case. 🙂

nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberIf you want to better understand the date formats, perhaps this will help:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Formatting_Date_and_Time
I may be able to help you more specifically if I knew what format output you are looking for. How do you want your date to be formatted in the end result?
Regards,
Stefanie
nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberThat's another great way to do it. I'm glad you got it working. 🙂
Stefanie
nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberKate,
It looks as though you've figured it out, since the site in the link has boxes of the same size with white background. 🙂

nerdworker.comnerdworkerMemberRabbi Mitterhoff,
It may be helpful to point for you out how image sizes work in WordPress.
In the Settings > Media screen, you may set image sizes that are the appropriate dimensions for your theme.
Then, anytime you upload a photo through WordPress, it will create that image in all of those sizes for you automatically. So you end up with multiple versions of that photo in the sizes that you specified, without having to manually upload all of those sizes separately.
That being said, your images should ideally be the dimensions of your largest size requirement, as seen in the Settings > Media screen.
I hope that helps.
nerdworkerMemberDanny,
It looks like you may have implemented a different comments system from when you posted this question, but I'll try to answer anyway.
It would be easier to answer if I could see the issue live, but it seems as though you could change the background of the comment option tabs to be white so they blend in with the comments form below it. It would be a matter of isolating the correct container so you could change the CSS.
nerdworkerMemberPerhaps it would be easier to use categories and then remove the category base from the URL, as per these instructions:
March 30, 2014 at 3:08 pm in reply to: Is it possible to have a full width header in Magazine Pro theme? #97525nerdworkerMemberIt would be helpful to understand more about what you want to accomplish, but to simply make the header full width, you could change the CSS like this:
header .wrap { max-width: 100%; }
and that would make the header the full width of the page.
I hope that helps.
