MarcyParticipant
The images showing in your theme right now are 640px wide. It looks like that's what you have set for the Medium size in Settings > Media
Is this correct?The width of the content area on your blog posts is 600px. Is that what you are asking?

MarcyParticipantThere are no categories for pages, so WordPress will just list the /%postname%
If you want another slug (url section) in front of your page names, you can use a parent-child relationship.
So you would have one page, let's say Parent 1 with slug parent-1
Then the child pages of that parent would be:
Page name Child 1 and slug would be /parent-1/child-1/To do this you would go to the Edit page, and look in the right sidebar, and find the section Page Attributes. Then you can assign any pages you like to a page that you choose as the parent. You can use the Order field to number the child pages in the order you choose.

May 8, 2015 at 10:55 am in reply to: sixteen nine – google fonts for header text (using WP google font plugin) #150966MarcyParticipantYou need to use the Custom CSS section for those. What font did you want to use?
Right now "OH BOY" is this:
.site-title { font-family: 'Roboto Condensed', sans-serif; }
and "Travel Hard" is this:
.site-description { font-family: 'Playfair Display', serif; }
So you would need to add the font you want to those. But you also have to have it "enqueued" - you have to tell your theme that you want it ready to use. So if it's already one you're using for the headings, then that's great. If not, then it's harder, and you would have to tell me which font you need to use where.
If you need more font options than that plugin shows, then it may be best to use a different plugin. This one will allow you to change fonts without code for your .site-title and description

MarcyParticipantMarcyParticipantMarcyParticipantNow that I can see the site, the added menu markup is not the same as the others, so that's why it's not working.
This is a better tutorial to use for the future: http://wpbeaches.com/add-footer-menu-genesis-child-theme/
But I think we can just edit your code in functions.php and get it where you need it.
function register_additional_menu() { register_nav_menu( 'third-menu' ,__( 'Third Navigation Menu' )); } add_action( 'init', 'register_additional_menu' ); add_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'add_third_nav_genesis' ); function add_third_nav_genesis() { echo'<nav class="nav-tertiary">'; wp_nav_menu( array( 'theme_location' => 'third-menu', 'menu_class' => 'menu genesis-nav-menu menu-tertiary' ) ); echo'</nav>'; }
Everything I changed was in this section: function add_third_nav_genesis() {
If you replace that whole function in your functions.php, it may just work.
If not, I can look at the markup and see where changes are needed.Re

MarcyParticipantMarcyParticipantHi, Jack,
I just saw that you posted this again. I answered on the OP, but here it is again:It looks like the part in the functions.php to create a new widget area is OK.
Open the front-page.php and add to the function outreach_home_top_widgets() {, so it looks like this:
function outreach_home_top_widgets() { genesis_widget_area( 'home-top', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-top widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'home-middle', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-middle widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); }
I edited the class that you had to be “home-middle”. It will be easier to know what it is for styling, since you call it Home – Middle for what appears in the widget area.

MarcyParticipantI'm glad you got the columns sorted, But it looks like I replied to the wrong question. Sorry about that.

MarcyParticipantMarcyParticipantIn the @media only screen and (max-width: 782px) { section, there is:
.five-sixths, .four-sixths, .home-widgets .featuredpost .entry, .one-fourth, .one-half, .one-sixth, .one-third, .three-fourths, .three-sixths, .two-fourths, .two-sixths, .two-thirds { margin: 0; width: 100%; }
Notice that there are no "fifths" there.
Bill's generator generates code for "fifths", but Genesis themes don't include "fifths" anymore.
Just add .one-fifth in that section, and all should be well.

MarcyParticipant.site-title {
font-size: 34px;
}
is what defines the size of "Sylvania Church".You could add that in one of the @media sections or add a new one, that makes the font-size smaller than 34px.
.site-description {
font-size: 16px;
}
is the size of "A Christ-Centered Reformed Baptist Church".
You could make it smaller at smaller screen sizes in the last @media section too.One other thing that you could do, is to give the .title-area a width of 100% at smaller screen sizes, and maybe the text would fit better.
It looks to me like you are using a custom CSS editor? If not you can edit your style.css.
Just find the @media only screen and (max-width: 480px) { section.So you could try this below what you added in the custom CSS editor:
.title-area { width: 350px; }
@media only screen and (max-width: 480px) { .title-area { width: 100%; } .site-title { font-size: 28px; } .site-description { font-size: 14px; } }

MarcyParticipantIn your WordPress Admin, click on Posts > Categories.
Then on the right, click on the category you want, like front deck news.
Then scroll down the page until you see Layout Settings.
Choose the full-width one, the one on the right.
Click the blue Update button.

In this line 119,
li, ol, ul { margin: 0; padding: 0; }
the "margin: 0" on li pushes it to the left margin.
You need to add margin back into line 1112 where you add the square bullets:
.archive-page ul li, .entry-content ul li { list-style-type: square; margin: 0 0 20px 20px; }
I used 20px, but you can adjust however you like.

MarcyParticipantYour buttons are lovely, Chris! I'm glad it all worked for you.
Marcy | Amethyst Website Design | Twitter
MarcyParticipantFirst, find this selector:
.entry-content a { color: #f96e5b; }
Add this below it:
.entry-content a.btn { background: #f96e5b; background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(top, #f96e5b, #f7432a); background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(top, #f96e5b, #f7432a); background-image: -ms-linear-gradient(top, #f96e5b, #f7432a); background-image: -o-linear-gradient(top, #f96e5b, #f7432a); background-image: linear-gradient(to bottom, #f96e5b, #f7432a); -webkit-border-radius: 12; -moz-border-radius: 12; border-radius: 12px; font-family: Arial; color: #ffffff; font-size: 18px; padding: 7px 20px 7px 20px; border: solid #f62d11 1.5px; text-decoration: none; } .entry-content a.btn:hover { background: #f62d11; text-decoration: none; }
Then down in the color sections find all the lines similar to :
.metro-pro-blue .btn:hover,
and comment them out by added /* */ around them like this:
/*.metro-pro-blue .btn:hover,*/

January 21, 2015 at 1:33 pm in reply to: Can someone help me with this stupid CSS issue please? #138206MarcyParticipantYou might need to add the "list-style-type: square;" to the ul, and not just the li.
Try adding just above the CSS you have:
.archive-page ul, .entry-content ul, .archive-page ul > li, .entry-content ul > li { list-style-type: square; }
You may only need it for the ul, but if you have li { list-style-type: none; } somewhere, you will also need the others.
I be of more help without a link to your website.

MarcyParticipantWhen you add the text in your WordPress editor, you will need to change to the editor Text tab.
Find the link that you created that you want to be a button; it will look like this:
<a rel="nofollow" href="#">Call to Action</a>
In place of the # though you need to make sure that you used a real URL.Then you tell it to use your .btn CSS by adding class="btn", like this:
<a class="btn" rel="nofollow" href="#">Call to Action</a>
Save, and then you should be able to go back to the Visual tab to finish editing.
