Thanks, I tried to put it in the header.png file and upload that but it wasn't showing up at all.
It's back up there now. http://www.bsbc.org.au.
Thank you.

Looking at code doesn't mean a lot to me if I'm not understanding what I need to do. I know how to change the colours, font types, sizes, etc. That part I can manage. It's knowing how to make a widget move to the right hand side of something else that's existing. In this case the slider in the featured home widget.
I note that many people have asked the same question at these forums relating to the Outreach theme but no-one yet has received a specific answer to explain how to do it. Obviously jbculp above understands what is needed to be done in css but there has been no description here of what it is that actually needs to be done.

kathiemtParticipantAll I did was upload the header image in the control panel. I suppose if I add a blank piece to the left of it it will then move it across above the header. I just need to know specific pixel sizes to do it.
I don't want to play around with coding too much - I'm not a programmer and if I hand this site over to someone else at the church to do things with I don't want to make the issue complicated. Was just hoping there would be a simple way of getting the logo to show where they wanted it to show.
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantI'm not a coder. How on earth do I do that?
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantDid you get that sorted dkrause? I'm also trying to find out the answer to this. My text is under my slider and not to the right.
I've read many threads here but it seems all the answers have stopped around 13 February. I can't find any new responses to many threads after this date.
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantI'm looking for the same information. I've read several posts, added code to my functions.php as per http://designsbynickthegeek.com/tutorials/add-widgeted-sidebar but nothing happened - no extra widget turned up in the widgets list and I can't figure out how to get the text I currently have in the home featured section to move to the right of the slider. I don't want it underneath.
My site is at http://www.bsbc.org.au. Would really love to find out how to get this one sorted please.
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantPaul, love what you've done! I'm currently using the same theme for our church and gradually getting it there.
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantWhat do you mean 'add the styles'? I followed the rest but wasn't sure what you meant by 'styles'.
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantThat's really strange. http://vadirectory.net/vadirectory/new-south-wales/ definitely works. Or you can get there from the menu via the VADirectory/Australia/New South Wales.
Yes, I've tried editing the page having gone from the menu and into the page. Still invisible text. I've done searches at wordpress.org now and there are other people reporting similar problem. One of them mentioned they were using a Genesis theme but others didn't say what theme they were using. Some found reuploading wp-includes helps but it didn't for me. Others have mentioned a tinymce plugin but I don't have that either. It's a mystery.
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantI've installed and activated but unfortunately that hasn't fixed the problem 🙁
I looked at another page linked to that page and it's fine, both in visual and text but looking at this one page in edit mode, its still invisible.
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantTry again - it is working. Might have been a temporary glitche. And no, it's only that page for editing. The site has over 500 pages and as far as I know, all the other pages are fine. I edit many of them and then have others responsible for their own pages.
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantOk, thanks, will give that a try.

All I did was add the logo to the existing header.png and reuploaded the file. Then I got white space to the right side. I did not change any css or anything else, but I did untick the reference for viewing the text heading in the theme setting. So why have I now got white space? http://www.vtio.org.au.

February 27, 2013 at 8:35 pm in reply to: Outreach-Slider: How to remove extra white space on right side #23224kathiemtParticipantJust to clarify, you're saying you changed the width to 1060 in the slider settings?
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantI had matched what I'd done on the previous site, but it seems that's what it was. Thanks Peter.
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantOk, will give that a try. I tried to find the edit theme information in the list of themes but couldn't for this one.
Thanks Mary.
Kathie Thomas
kathiemtParticipantThanks Tony, will have to check where I can change those things. I guess making the text on the buttons bolder might help? And the twitter link, yes, I need to change the colour of that font too. Re the icons - they came with the actual widget I'm using. Do yo have a suggstion for a different social media widget that might be better?
Thanks for looking!
