February 3, 2014 at 7:24 pm in reply to: Enterprise Pro – media queries and behavior of header / primary sidebar #88449jhguynnMember
I answered my own question (finally!) about the behavior of my header right widget dropping below the logo. I just needed to edit its width in the "max width 1139px" media query section as follows:
.site-header .widget-area { width: 440px; /* -- original value: 600px -- */ }
Works like a charm.
Please note: I'd still like some input about how to define the primary sidebar as a fixed width (say 400px) - I know how to do this much - and ALSO have it centered in the area beneath the content area after it gets repositioned - I don't know how to do that part.
Thanks for the help.

jhguynnMemberBump. I'd like to hear some good responses to this query myself.

Thanks for the fix. You wrote:
By default the theme is set to center header images if there is nothing in the right header. All you need to do is add a widget to the right side header – an empty text widget works.
How do you know that? I find it odd. Glad to have a fix for now, but I'll bump this back to the top to see if there may be a glitch in the theme. It is relatively new, after all. My preference would be to control logo position with funcrions.php and css only, and not have to duct tape an empty text widget in the right header for it to work.
We'll see what pops up. Thanks again.
jhguynnMemberBump. Good question. I'd like to know the answer as well. Anybody?

By the way, here is the css I modified to change the padding around my logo:
Site Header ---------------------------------------------------- */ .site-header { background-color: #fff; min-height: 150px; } .site-header .wrap { padding: 10px 0; /* --- original value: padding: 40px 0; --- */ padding: 1rem 0; /* --- original value: padding: 4rem 0; --- */ }
See if this gets the result you're after. Note: you may have to modify 'min height' to suit as well. Don't forget to include the padding in that calculation (i.e. min height = image height + 2X padding for top & bottom).
February 2, 2014 at 6:23 am in reply to: Enterprise Pro – Adjusted header height, then wp centered my image #88145jhguynnMemberBump. I had the same issue with the same theme: I modified functions.php and css to accomodate a header (logo) image of a different size, and mine got centered as well. Pissing me off. Any help on this?

Thanks for your quick response. Here's a short video (<2 min) of me showing where I put the code according to your instructions. Perhaps you can tell from this whether or not I'm doing something wrong:

Since other's here use his tutorials, and since Sridhar also checks in here, I thought I'd post my question here. My question stands, especially with respect to the Enterprise Pro theme. Thanks.
jhguynnMemberThanks, Erin...but:
Hmmm...I applied all the steps from the tutorial mentioned above (for site-wide sticky primary nav) to Enterprise Pro theme. i.e. I added
(1) the code provided to functions.php,
(2) the javascript code provided (saved as sticky-nav.js) to the js folder
(3) the css code provided to style.css.Bummer. Doesn't seem to work. FYI: I'm doing this on localhost (which shouldn't matter). Any tricks I'm missing?
Brad Dalton: do you have a Blog post re: sticky nav?

jhguynnMemberGreat news - thanks Brian!
jhguynnMemberPainerMommy:
You can also just rename frontpage.php to something else, like frontpage-old.php. That way you won't have to store the file somewhere else, and you'll get the same result. Thanks to nutsandbolts for this.
