How do Studiopress themes interact with the new Google Universal Analytics? What's the best way to go about adding this new tracking code to the theme if it is not HTML5 ? What about if it is HTML5? Note: I found this: http://wordpress.org/plugins/google-universal-analytics/. Thanks!

I'm not sure this is an issue of any kind, so I'm confused... is there a specific problem you've had after adding it, or is there another issue at hand for your site?

Google doesn't care if a site is HTML5 or not when using any of their tracking codes, and there is nothing that I've read in any of their docs that even suggests that as an exclusive requirement. I've begun work on client sites in the past who were still running the original original urchin tracking codes Google used to use, and that let me know how long it had been since someone had worked on or upgraded their site 🙂

All you have to do is add the tracking code in the Header Scripts area of your Genesis settings just like you would their regular tracking codes, and you're done... there's no interaction with Genesis to be concerned with.

Sorry for bumping this thread...but I've recently added the Google Universal Analytics script to the Header Scripts area in the Genesis Sample theme, and it doesn't seem to be working.

I've installed GA dozens of times, but for some reason it doesn't seem to work when I put it in the Header script area.

    Any ideas?

When you do a view-source of any of your site's pages, do you see the GA code in your header? Can you provide a link to your site?

I haven't had any problems with Genesis xhtml or html5 themes and the new Universal Analytics codes, not that I've come across as yet.
