I agree, what he has done so far is a good start. Adding some subtle motion to the background images of each section on the home page would be a nice touch. Is there any additional info on the Denali Pro theme, release date, features etc.? Hopefully the StudioPress community will drive the demand for this.
I have clients looking for this effect as well. I see where StudioPress is starting to include some of this in there updated and new themes, but not to the extent that other themes are doing. I realize this is not what the framework is about, but good or bad, people just love "cool" and it's hard to talk them out of it. I don't want to use Themforest, etc. I want to stay with Genesis for all my sites.
I have clients that are looking for the parallax scrolling effect that segments different images and moves them at different speeds as you scroll down the page.

It sure would be nice for Studiopress to create a Genesis child theme with this. Or at least provide some information or a resource on how to add this functionality to any of their new themes.

Does anyone know what caused this to change? Was it related to WordPress 3.6 or Genesis 2.0?
Thanks Bill, that did work. The only problem is if the widget gets updated the target id changes and the CSS has to been updated. I've assigned a specific class within the widget area itself. That also works, but can be tricky regrading specificity and the cascade, I had to use !important to get some of the style to work.
