Fixing it page by page. Excerpt text is in the page editor excerpt section, but not visible inside the box, not even when highlighted/selected - but there is something there that can be selected (which is odd) and when I select and delete that highlighted area of space, the banner excerpt is removed.
Okay, I tried creating a new page and got all my elements in fine with a little additional css. However, when I select it as the Homepage in theme settings, I loose the sidebar -- even though I have the sidebar included in the site layout settings both on the page and as the default in theme settings. Ok, thanks! I have made the attempt and it mostly worked. However, the new row (home-bottom-2 is populated the same content as the orginal, even though I have added unique content in the widgets. What have I missed?

No, of course I wouldn't paste CSS into the functions files. Would you be so kind as to answer my question (where in the functions should the code be pasted? I usually paste it into the very bottom). Alternately, would you mind sending me to a sample of the functions page? TIA, EE
Whah, that still didn't work for me. The conversion worked great, but the whole title block is still missing, based on the position of the tag line.
Does it matter where one adds things in the functions page - so long as it is not in the middle of a string?
Thank you! Unfortunately, it's not working for me. Using the code provided by the link within the Mindstream functions.php has removed the site title entirely from the header.
