    I would like to customize a site title with two colors, perhaps by styling a span area.

    I believe I need to replace the php bloginfo('name'); with

    <h1>CONVECTION <span>QUEST</span></h1>

    However, I have no idea where to accomplish this in the Mindstream child theme.

    Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. TIA, Elke Edwards

    Line 886 of genesis > lib > structure > header.php includes code you can add to your child themes functions file and add a class to so you can style your title.

    Here's a very basic example you can extend further using the code in Genesis http://wpsites.net/web-design/style-site-title-words-letters/

    Thank you! Unfortunately, it's not working for me. Using the code provided by the link within the Mindstream functions.php has removed the site title entirely from the header.

    I have bookmarked your site, though!

    I converted the theme to HTML 5 and it works for me as i tested it now on Mindstream.

    The site title colors may need to be changed so the second word in the title displays on the black background. I think its black by default which is why it looks like it may not work.

    There was also a typo in the div class name i fixed.

    title

    Also added this CSS:

    .title-area {
    font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif;
    font-size: 20px;
    line-height: 1.25;
    margin: 0;
    color: #fff;
    text-transform: uppercase;
    }

    Whah, that still didn't work for me. The conversion worked great, but the whole title block is still missing, based on the position of the tag line.

    Does it matter where one adds things in the functions page - so long as it is not in the middle of a string?

    The screenshot above shows it works so you must have missed something.

    Don't paste the CSS in the functions file!

    No, of course I wouldn't paste CSS into the functions files. Would you be so kind as to answer my question (where in the functions should the code be pasted? I usually paste it into the very bottom). Alternately, would you mind sending me to a sample of the functions page? TIA, EE
