I have not use your theme, but in general you will need to comment out /** Add support for custom header */ in the functions.php file for the Header metabox to appear. Use /* before function and */ after. See below.
/* add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array(
'width' => 1060,
'height' => 120
) ); */
Then upload your logo to the 'images' folder of your theme.
Then add:
.header-image #title a {
background: url( 'images/your-logo.jpg' ) no-repeat;
}to:
/* Image Header - Partial Width
------------------------------------------------------------ */

Doak HeggenessMemberTry adding this to your home.php file after <?php
// Force layout on home page
add_filter( 'genesis_site_layout', '__genesis_return_content-sidebar' );The user cannot override this.

Doak HeggenessMemberetchattic,
You also need to change
// Add support for 3-column footer widgets
add_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 3 );to 4 in lieu of 3 in the functions.php file.....
// Add support for 4-column footer widgets
add_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 4 );

Doak HeggenessMemberI have not usd the theme, but you are probably using the 'Genesis Responsive Slider'. If so, you can set the slider image dimensions in the 'Slider' settings located in the Genesis tab. You will have to change the 'slider' selector declarations in the style.css file also.

Doak HeggenessMemberI am not going to get into your code, but....
1) Register widgets in functions.php file. Follow the examples in the file.
2) Add widget areas to home.php or template. See home.php for example.
3) Add new div's to stylesheet for design.
Doak Heggeness, WordPress Development | Website
Doak HeggenessMember2) Add the new widget to the home.php after #home-top-bg div. Copy the 'Home Top Right' but rename it.
Use to add the image to the 'Text' widget.
For some reason I cannot include the code in this post.

Doak HeggenessMemberYou need to:
1) Register a new 'widget area' in the functions.php file. Just replicate one that is there, but change the 'name' & 'id' to want ever you want...ie 'Home Full Image' for example.
2) Add the new widget to the home.php after .
Use in the text widget to reference your image.
3) Add the #home full image style to the Style.css. You can probably copy the #home top bg code as it is full width.

You probably did not save your changes to the functions.php. If you 'commented out' that function the 'Header' metabox will display in Genesis/Theme settings ( 5th one down ). It will not display by default. Check you functions.php to see.
Item #4 is related to styling. Make your logo image 100px in height to fit the default header height. You maybe/will have to adjust the margin to fit logo proportionately in header. If you want a larger/smaller logo you will have to adjust the height of the header.
Also, you need to upload your image to the 'images' directory of the Outreach theme.

Doak HeggenessMemberPageH,
You can delete it or 'uncomment' ( /* 'code' */ ) it out in case you might want to use it in the future. I have included the
uncomment ( /* ) out before theadd_theme_support
and ( */ ) after));
in my post. All this does is cause the block of code not to load.

Doak HeggenessMemberPageH,
1) Uncomment out the following in the functions.php file:
/** Add support for custom header */
/* add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array(
'width' => 1060,
'height' => 120
) ); */2) Go to Genesis/Theme Settings and change 'Header' settings to 'Image Logo.'
3)In Style.css add your image logo:
/* Image Header - Partial Width
------------------------------------------------------------ */
.header-image #title a {
background: url( 'images/my-logo.jpg' ) no-repeat;
}
4) You will need to adjust the height of your image or #header selector property 'heigh't to accommodate each other. You may also have to adjust the #title margin selector to your preference.Hope this helps.

Doak HeggenessMemberDo you want to add a logo in lieu of the site title and description?

Doak HeggenessMemberMy preference based on weddings, anniverseries would be the Manhattan theme which is light and cheery. The Landscape theme is too dark for life. My 2 cents.

April 9, 2013 at 3:56 pm in reply to: Built off Genesis Sample theme and can't get mobile viewport meta tag to appear. #34375Doak HeggenessMembermattspaeth,
You are a little ahead of the game.
add_theme_support();
will be valid with Genesis 2.0; whenever that is released. For now drop that and use:/** Add Viewport meta tag for mobile browsers */
add_action( 'genesis_meta', 'custom_viewport_meta_tag' );
function custom_viewport_meta_tag() {
echo '';
}You should see it in your header. I had trouble finding it myself.

Doak HeggenessMemberThanks...I will look into S2member. I just need a simple registration system with private messaging. Buddypress seems like overkill for this application.

Doak HeggenessMemberIt seems to me you will have to create a home.php file for your 'child' theme and hard code the slider ( .flexslider ) into it. Inside that 'class' you will put your 'div' for your image. They will be positioned in the CSS using the 'relative' (slider) and 'absolute' (image) declarations. Go here to see how an overlay is done. Use Firebug to see how the 'selectors' are used.

Doak HeggenessMemberYou might try using a conditional statement. Since your blog is your front page you can put the following in the functions,php file,
function kr_remove subnav () {
if ( is_home() ) {
// Removes sub nav after the header
remove_action('genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_subnav');
}
}

December 28, 2012 at 12:58 pm in reply to: Removing image border for only one home page featured widget #7955Doak HeggenessMemberIt looks like the background color #83B000 is causing the problem, due to 'padding:4px;'. Try deleting the padding or changing/eliminating the color all together. You need to create a new style specially adding the actual post div, 'featured-post-2' to your css.
Also are you using Firefox with Firebug? It can help find these things.
Doak Heggeness, WordPress Development | Website
Doak HeggenessMemberI have never used the plugin, but you need to use a conditional statement.
if ( is_home() ) {
Your banner code here
}
1) This assumes you have not set the 'static page' setting .. ie you are using your blog as your home page.

Doak HeggenessMemberYou need to change the float:left to float:none or delete it.
