The StudioPress themes come with a 'home' page that is widgetized. If you use the design of the theme's front page ( use the widgets ), that is your 'home' page. If you do not use the theme's front page design, then the 'blog' page by default is your home page. WordPress by default sets the 'front page' as the 'latest posts'.

Doak HeggenessMemberI know of no StudioPress theme that overlays the 'header widget' over a full image header. The vintage 'demo' has full width header with navigation below. I no not know if any community themes have this feature. If the 'Vintage' theme does have this feature I would investigate the stylesheet to see how they did it. It would probably involve using the css property 'z-index' or positioning.

Doak HeggenessMemberTeresa,
Great. So now I am dubious of the automatic 'reinstall now' feature. It serves no purpose if it does replace the core files.
You can go ahead and delete the old ( wp-admin_old & wp-includes_old ) folders.

Doak HeggenessMemberI am glad you site is back up. I almost had a heart attack. This plugin disabled a site of mine. That plugin was not updated and was taken over by StudioPress. Use 'Genesis Twitter Widget'. I did not realize you use an FTP client. If you can replace the 'wp-admin' & wp-includes' folders. Upload the new folders as 'wp-admin_new' & 'wp-includes_new'. Then rename the existing folders 'wp-admin_old' etc..., then rename the new folders 'wp-admin' etc... If someone else has any ideas, please speak up.
Other ideas...
Does this happen on different browsers? Refresh it, Then clear your cookies & history
Do you have a 'caching' plugin? If so, clear the cache.
Install Plugin : WP-DBManager
Do the settings
After plugin connects with your database,
Click on repair database and repair it and then
Click on optimize database and so, on.Delete your plugins and reinstall them one at a time.
That is about all the ideas I have. If anyone has ideas, speak up.

Doak HeggenessMemberTry activating the default WordPress theme ( Twenty Twelve? ) and see if it is theme specific.

Doak HeggenessMemberTeresa,
Did you click the 'ReInstall Now' button after getting to the 'Updates' page?

June 25, 2013 at 5:13 pm in reply to: Executive: Is there a way to align CTA to Right of Home Top #47730Doak HeggenessMemberSorry, I have dealt into it a little more. The following should put them side by side. The styling will be your discretion.
You have to separate the .home-top ( from .home-middle ) & make width:50%; & .home-top .widget ( from .home-middle .widget ) and make width:100%;. Then change .home-cta to float:right; & uncomment out the width. This is if you have one widget in .home-top./* Home Page
------------------------------------------------------------ */.home-middle {
background-color: #fff;
clear: both;
overflow: hidden;
padding: 60px 40px 0;
}.home-top {
background-color: #fff;
float:left; ******added******
clear: both;
overflow: hidden;
padding: 60px 40px 0;
width: 50%; *****added******
}.home-middle .widget {
-moz-box-sizing: border-box;
box-sizing: border-box;
float: left;
padding: 0 30px;
width: 33%;
}.home-top .widget {
-moz-box-sizing: border-box;
box-sizing: border-box;
float: left;
padding: 0 30px;
width: 100%; ******changed*******
}/* Home Widgets
------------------------------------------------------------ */.executive-home .home-cta {
-moz-box-sizing: border-box;
background-color: #222;
box-sizing: border-box;
color: #ddd;
float: right; ********changed*******
padding: 60px 70px;
/* width: 100% */ ****uncomment out******
}

Doak HeggenessMemberSome of your 'core' files may have been corrupted and a reinstall may solve it. I would go back to your dashboard and click the 'Updates' button ( second from the top, after 'Home' ). Then click the 'Re-install Now' button. It should reinstall the 'core' files while everything else untouched. This would be my first step.
Let us know if that solved it?

Doak HeggenessMemberIt is always OK to upgrade from x.x.x to x.x.y ( ie.. 3.5.1 to 3.5.2 ). This is a security update to fix bugs and should be done immediately. There is no need to disable plugins. Updating from x.x to x.y ( ie.. 3.5.2 to 3.6 ) is a different story as this is an update regarding the functionality.

June 25, 2013 at 6:39 am in reply to: Executive: Is there a way to align CTA to Right of Home Top #47640Doak HeggenessMemberOff the top of my head you need to change the 'float' & 'width' of the .home-cta selector just like you did the .home-top selector
.executive-home .home-cta {
-moz-box-sizing: border-box;
background-color: #222;
box-sizing: border-box;
color: #ddd;
float: left; *change to 'right'*
padding: 60px 70px;
width: 100% *change to 50%;*
}

Doak HeggenessMemberI would go to the bottom of your Style.css sheet where you will find all of the color schemes. Copy a color scheme and change the all colors to your new color.

Doak HeggenessMemberThe 'Welcome' section is a widget as you are aware, which spans the full page. You need to add/register a new widget area in the home.php & functions.php files. You will need to add the 'selector' you created in the style.css as well as modifying the 'welcome' CSS styles ( make the width smaller ) to accommodate the new sidebar.

Doak HeggenessMemberanitec,
The image itself is a link. It took me a while to figure it out. The image is 500x260, the widget ( .home-top-left ) is 520x280. So the widget is larger than the image and has a background of white ( #fff; ). I would suggest making the image the size of the widget...520x280. Does that make sense?
#home-top {
width: 960px;
color: #FFFFFF;
margin: 0 auto 0;
padding: 0 0 30px 0;
overflow: hidden;
}.home-top-left {
background: #FFFFFF;
width: 520px;
height: 280px;
float: left;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
-moz-box-shadow: 0 5px 5px #333333;
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 5px 5px #333333;
}

Doak HeggenessMemberDoak HeggenessMemberDoak HeggenessMemberYou might want to consider a theme that has lots of stuff built into them . There several Genesis themes that incorporate several color styles as theme features.
Doak Heggeness, WordPress Development | Website
Doak HeggenessMemberYou need to understand want you want to accomplish, instead of blindly copying something. You need to add a new set of selectors ( #home full image ) to your style.css file, since you created a new widget and . You probably want to copy the basic style from the three widgets below, since you probably want them to align the same?
#home-middle {
width: 960px;
margin: 0 auto 0;
padding: 0 0 5px 0;
overflow: hidden;
}So you need to create...
#home-full-image {
width: 960px;
margin: 0 auto 0;
padding: 0 0 5px 0;
overflow: hidden;
}You will probably have to adjust the padding to align them.
Any error in syntax and it will not work.

Doak HeggenessMemberIf you are replacing the Site Title & Tagline with a Logo you use this option. It disables these in Settings/General so a client can add them by mistake.
Doak Heggeness, WordPress Development | Website
Doak HeggenessMemberWell it appears the widget is there. You are almost there. It needs to be styled. Go to line #774? ( #home-middle ) in the style.css and use the same declarations for #home-full-image ( you need to add this div to the style.css file ). I assume you want the same width, margins...etc.
