Hi there,
Looks like you got it figured out? If not, go to Genesis > Theme Settings and turn off the featured image, as the theme is pulling it in automatically.
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantHi Sunil,
I tried viewing your code on your site, but you have right-click disabled. π
Here's a stab at a solution though:
Float: center isn't valid CSS, so that's why you're getting inconsistent results.
.flex-control-nav li {
display: block;
float: none;
margin: 0 auto;
overflow: hidden;
}Carrie

cdilsParticipantHi there,
I don't think you're doing anything wrong, I think it's just the nature of how LinkedIn handles the links. If there's a way around it, I haven't heard. Sorry. π

cdilsParticipantNo worries, I'm on my first cup of the morning.
You can modify the child themes as much as you want or even change the names. Just don't modify any of parent Genesis theme files.

cdilsParticipantYou might need to check usage between is_category vs in_category (http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags)
For instance,Β you don't want it to show if it is_category('category-id) && if it's in_category('post-id').

add_action('wp_print_styles', 'custom_show_zlrecipe');

Looking good! I saw you're on G+, too. There's a Genesis group you can join at https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/113206330486200023679. Another great place to interact with the Genesis community. π
Cheers!

cdilsParticipantHi there,
You could go to a full-width (no sidebar) layout to accommodate on just about any theme. If you're using a mobile responsive theme and keeping your ads mobile responsive is important, you may want to read up on that here: http://www.labnol.org/internet/google-adsense-responsive-design/25252/
If I could just put in my two cents, I'd say that picking a design just to accommodate an ad isn't the best approach. The design should reflect your brand and the style of your content and let the ads fall where they may. I realize there is strategy to consider, but if your overall design isn't built with your audience/reader in mind, they probably won't be there to see the ads anywhere. Just my opinion. π
Cheers,
Carrie

February 18, 2013 at 7:50 am in reply to: How to Exclude the Posts of a Specific Category from the Homepage? #20984cdilsParticipantHi Ian,
Which theme are you using? If it has a home.php in the theme folder, that's where you'll want to add in your conditional statement.Β Otherwise, if there is no home.php, then functions.php is where you'll be working.
The conditional if statement needs to be in the context of an action hook. See if this might be what you're looking for? http://genesissnippets.com/genesis-custom-loop/

cdilsParticipantYour if statement needs to be associated with an action or filter. Try something like this instead:
add_action('wp_head', 'custom_show_zlrecipe')
function custom_show_zlrecipe() {
if (!in_category() {
remove_filter('wp_head', 'amd_zlrecipe_process_head');
}
}
That code is untested, so try at your own risk. π

cdilsParticipantHi Michael,
I like the Simple Social Icons plugin and the Social Circles plugin - both were created by Genesis developers. Simple Social Icons would probably work best in the space you're using.

cdilsParticipantHi,
If you go to Appearance > Menus and remove home from your custom menu, that'll do the trick.
So long as your logo is linked to your home page, you're probably fine - but I wouldn't recommend not giving folks a way to get back home. π

If you post a link to your site, I can give you guidance with the CSS.

cdilsParticipantHi there,
I'm using BackupBuddy with no issues. I'm wondering if there might be a conflict with another plugin? You might try disabling all plugins (except BackupBuddy) and re-activate one at a time to see if you can locate the offending plugin.
Also, are you running the latest versions of WP, your theme, etc?
Those are the trouble-shooting steps I'd start with. Other than that, I'd try being persistent with the iThemes folks - they're really the best option for support. π
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantHi there,
You're on the right track.
Change this to 4 widgets: add_theme_support( ‘genesis-footer-widgets’, 4 );
That'll add a 4th widget area where you can add your info.
As for CSS, add something like this:
.footer-widgets-4 {
Β Β Β clear: both;
Β Β Β Β width: 100%;}
You may also want to add some margin to the top of that element if it's cramping up against your other footer widgets. Try that out and post a link if you need more help. π
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantAh! Okay, try adding this to functions.php:
/** Add featured image above single posts Β */ add_action( 'genesis_before_post_content', 'cd_featured_image' ); function cd_featured_image() { if ( is_single() && has_post_thumbnail() ){ echo '<div id="featured-image">'; echo get_the_post_thumbnail($thumbnail->ID, 'thumbnail-size'); echo '</div>'; }}
Where it says "thumbnail-size", you'll want to replace that with whatever image size you've decided on for your posts. If you're not sure, look in your functions.php for something like this:
// Add new image sizes
That'll show you the name of any special image sizes declared for your theme.
If you want the photo above the post title, change the action to 'genesis_before_post_title' instead of 'genesis_before_post_content' (Here's a handy hook reference you might like: http://my.studiopress.com/docs/hook-reference/)
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantHi Nomad,
Yes, once you purchase Genesis Framework, you can re-use it as many times an on as many domains as you wish. The same goes for any StudioPress child theme. I have the Pro Pack and it was money well spent. π
You get unlimited support. Unlimited updates. Unlimited websites. There’s no “Developer Option” here. One low price entitles you to unlimited support, updates, and domains you can build on. If you’ve got multiple websites (or client projects), Genesis offers unparalleled value.Β - http://www.studiopress.com/features
