    Perfect. Thanks.

    So these are the different screen sizes. The purpose is to find the first tablet size that doesn't need to be padded and decrease it back to a full screen width?

    Thank you! I'm just now able to get back into this.

    Where in the media queries does that little snippet go?

    Anywhere?

    And what does this do?

    (the snippet above was perfect - looks so much better now!)

    I tried the changing false to true thing and still get the white screen (www.nonprofitinsuranceblog.com).

    I'll submit a ticket. I've been able to get other sites up and running by deleting Genesis and reloading it. But I've had to do that every couple weeks over the last couple months. No way to live. ๐Ÿ™‚

    No.

    On one of my sites (see list on the thread I started elsewhere) is back up (I deleted Genesis, reuploaded, and re-activated the child theme). That's for a nonprofit (www.aaronandandrew.org). This is the third time I've done that.

    No caching plugins. I'm down to the bear minimum (Akismet and Simple Social Icons) on http://www.nonprofitinsuranceblog.com. I had a malware issue on that site and deleted everything not necessary.

    No caching plugins on other sites either. The only site working is the WP freebie theme.

    Thanks Dave... I think it's probably exactly the same thing. i wasn't sure how to search for the topic in here.

    Marianzola....

    Has it happened again yet or still doing fine?

    I'm having the exact same thing happening with my sites. I'm going to try the FTP thing, but I'm one of those push button FTP and upload the theme inside WordPress guys. I've never FTP'd anything.

    Thank you Davinder!

    Apparently, I didn't realize I had to manage the widgets from the Customizer. Everything I was doing in the widget area was being over-ridden by what was in the Customizer. Didn't realize that that was the way it worked now.

    Thanks for the code.

    I'll add that.

    I actually cut a huge chunk of code out of the form's code and that did away with the top spacing (it was still there after I cut and paste the CSS you gave me) I'm not sure if cutting the code (just below) will screw up the Mailchimp list subscribes. I pasted it under all the CSS/html related to the form. It's starting to look a little messy.

    One quick question: The CSS you gave me - I put it in the little 'edit CSS' box, not at the bottom of the style.css file. I also put it in the actual text editor of the post (I'm guessing I should delete it out of one of those places.

    (got the code from the 'View Page Source' in Chrome for: http://eepurl.com/Ttlzb

    <html dir="ltr">
    <head>
    <title>Best Filet Mignon Email Subscription List</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">

    blah blah blah.... down to...

    empty: function(element) {
    if ( $('#MERGE0_mailcheck').length > 0 ){
    $('#MERGE0_mailcheck').remove();
    }
    return;
    }
    });
    });
    } catch(e){ console.log(e); }
    });
    </script>

    Thanks Tom!

    I'll make sure to keep you on the list of 'folks who deserve steak' when I start getting paid. ๐Ÿ™‚

    So that code should actually address issues in the Mailchimp form itself?

    What's driving me batty is the space between the top of the form and the top of the post area. I figure there's some code bloat in the Mailchimp form that is causing it, but I'm not sure what is allowed to be removed to keep the integrity of the Mailchimp code together.

    That said, I don't have any steak to give, so I'm going to keep on playing with it to see what I can come up with.

    thanks again for taking a look and working out all that CSS for the form. I think we hacks (not hackers, obviously), don't quite get what's involved. We see too much drag and drop and assume it's all pretty simple.

    Will it actually act like a blog?

    I know I can create normal blog posts in the theme, but I can't seem to figure out a way to put that blog in a menu or somewhere else on the homepage. When I create new blog posts, I can't figure out how to find them.

    I couldn't tell from this conversation if I needed to put the code in both the header and footer box (or if I need to wait more than 5 minutes).

    Seems the header box is a neat, convenient way to add the code, but I can't seem to get it to work.

    I was using posts... should I create pages instead? And as far as the taxonomies and terms, etc. do I need to do something in that part of the slider settings to point the slider to the correct posts or pages?

    I removed the pictures from the posts and uploaded them as featured images, and it doesn't seem to have worked yet. i"m about to send you my password ๐Ÿ™‚

    i found the featured image size in functions.php. I changed my slider settings to match: 1040 x 400. I just created two posts w/ two pictures in the posts, 'featured' was the tag and tried to set the slider in the widget. I have a feeling there's something really easy I'm missing.

    And Thanks for offering to help.

    I'm a novice/hobbyist and am trying to get responsive slider to work in Outreach. I can't get it to work. Here's what I'm doing:

    1. Create a ย post and give it a title

    2. Put an image in the post (use size 1026 X 400 and set responsive slider for that pixel size, although it's a bear to get other photos to the exact same size--keep getting 1026X399 or 1027X400. It's driving me crazy).

    3. Tag the post 'featured'

    4. Set the slider to use 'posts'

    5. in Taxonomy and Terms, select Tag 'Featured'

    6. Update and go...

    Questions:

    1. Do the pictures all have to be exactly 1026 X 400 or can they be slightly under those sizes?

    2. I can't get any other pictures exactly that size (I figured it'd be easier to do so), can I use pictures that are 1026 X 399?

    Either way, I set the slider settings, drop the widget in 'Home Featured' widget area, and I get nothing.

    And, I'm such a novice, that I don't know how to check the 'featured image size' in the theme function.php.

    I've realized that this is a little more complicated. I know I can't go pro overnight, but is there a good resource for someone getting to know html and css, etc. from the ground up? Any sites, books recommended?

    My problem might just be as basic as knowing how to size the image correctly. I tried to get the default dimensions by sizing it my image editor. Since I couldn't get it to fit, I changed the size in the responsive slider settings in hopes to get something to display at the very least.

    I just chose one. I created a post and inserted the media in the post. I didn't give the post a title.

    just one post id. I changed the 'taxonomy and terms' to 'All Taxonomies and Terms'.

    I'm concerned there's something super simple that I'm not doing. I did 'include' post ID and I selected the one post that has the picture that we want on there (that we're testing).

    I placed the responsive slider widget in the 'Home Featured' section. Refresh here and there and no go. ย I'm sure it's something so simple like asking where the restroom is at the store when you're standing under the sign.
