MemberI want to remove author from all Pages, not blog posts, including a Landing Page type. Ideas?? I'd like to remove date from all the PAGES, too.
I didn't like the attachment page for media files, and want to remove author, date, author gravatar, and image title. Suggestions? I'd also like to be able to put in a link to another page. Can that be done?
Thanks,
Sandy

MemberHi David -
Thanks zillions for your reply. I am not sure I understand it all, so I am hoping you can help me out a bit further.
I used to be a programmer, but never programmed in a full object oriented language. Most of my work was in Visual Basic, though I have also programmed in C and a little Java, but most of this was also, blissfully, almost 13 years ago. I am doing this work for my own business website, which is astronomy, space, and STEM Education. So, bear with me if I ask some really novice questions.
If I understand you correctly, you are saying that I can copy my landing page template into a new file and rename it as attachment.php or image.php, right? OK, that's first. So, then, where do I rename it, and then upload it? Can I do that within WP, or do I have to copy the landing page code into an editor, like Notepad, then do the Save As, then upload to the rest of my WP files through my web hoster to get it into a place like WP content? Then, is it now a template that will just show up at the bottom of my image attachment page as a layout that I can choose, or do I have to edit each of these individually? Lastly, I took a screen shot of where my current image attachment page is getting called, and pasted it into Word. I'd like to post that here, but I don't think it will let me. Is there a way to attach it? Oh, and one last thing (really, this is it) what does the "code" and "close tags" buttons, above, for editing this reply, do?
Thanks billions,
Sandy

MemberI've installed Layout Extras plugin, and it does NOT do everything I want. It, basically, just adds a couple extra page/post styles as options for the image attachment page, and, even then, it doesn't work right. I am now looking at another post on this topic (Style attachment page) from about a year ago, to see if I can make any of that work. Basically, I want my image attachment page to look like a landing page: no author, date, sidebars, header, title, meta, footer, etc. Just blank, so I can talk to my visitor and lead them through a process.
Anyone wanna update Genesis Layout Extras to make it do these things, too?

MemberHi Tom -
Thanks for your reply. OK, let me see if I can answer some of your questions.
So, I have an image gallery implemented. There are six images in the gallery, three on each of two rows. Each image has a caption. Five of the six images are absolutely static. Ideally, the sixth image, the one captioned, "Shop," will be DYNAMIC. I have several different products, and would like to make it possible for my products to RANDOMLY display an image in the sixth placeholder of my image gallery. For example, my products might be jewelry, water bottles, travel mug, and apparel. I want some means of randomly displaying each different product in the "Shop" placeholder in the image gallery. Say I have eight products. Those eight would cycle through being displayed in the one Shop placeholder of my six-placeholder image gallery. When the image is clicked on, it takes visitor to that product and/or my entire product catalog. Does this make more sense?
I forget what a lightbox is, but I don't think I am planning to implement one.
Does this help?
Thanks,
Sandy

MemberHI again, Davinder -
I REALLY appreciate your continued assistance, and I have followed all your advice.
The problem is, either in my theme, or as a deficiency in the Genesis Layout Extras plugin, I cannot choose "Landing Page" as a type for attachment page. I have added all the extra page types available through the plugin, but "Landing Page" does not appear to be one of them. I want a simple page, no sidebars, footers, header, date, author, nothing but blank page, so I can use it for my sales funnel, with no distractions.
Thoughts? Ideas? I'd love to know how to accomplish this. It would make me so happy, I wouldn't be able to see straight.
Thanks again for all your help.

MemberHi -
OK, last one for now, I swear.
I see that there are now many different types of posts that can be created: video, audio, standard, link, etc.
Is there a way, within the Admin area for creating a post, that I can select a type from a menu? Some things I've seen have referenced a "radio buttons" section, but I don't seem to have that on my screen. Why? Also, is there a better way?
Thanks,
Sandy

MemberHI Anitac and others -
Here is a screen shot of what the "Portfolio" section of Modern Portfolio Pro looks like NOW, after I created a page using Image Gallery.
Here is what the "portfolio" section of Modern Portfolio looks like in the demo, which is what I want it to look like. Here's the thing. If you do what the demo says, you have to create six blog pages, each of which have a featured image. That's all great and fine, except that I do not WANT blog pages behind each image. I want a Landing Page. So, I created one page with an Image Gallery, put the six photos in, used the Featured Page widget in the Home>Portfolio section of Widgets to set everything up, and its all working, except for the part where the images in the Image Gallery are
a) too small
b) captions are too small
c) too much white space between images side-to-side
d) make the page that is associated with an image NOT the attachment page that is standard, and looks like a blog post. I want that attachment page to look and function like a Landing Page - no dates, author, heading, sidebars, etc.Ideas??
Here is what the Portfolio section of Modern Portfolio Pro SHOULD look like:
OK, fiddesticks. I can't get the image to paste from my Word document or the Modern Portfolio Pro theme setup instructions. But if you go to http://my.studiopress.com/setup/modern-portfolio-theme/ and look at what the demo looks like, that is what my page should look like. Notice how little space there is between pics? And how large the pics are? And that each has a large title underneath? That's what I'm looking for, only using an Image Gallery.
Thanks billions for your help.

MemberHi Davinder and others -
Thank you for your reply and help. I have installed the Genesis Layout Extras plugin and gone to Genesis Theme Settings, as it states in the instructions. I see that I have acquired TWO new theme layout types, neither of which I like or are really useful to me, but DO NOT see where/how I can change the layout of an attachment page. Suggestions? I even went into Media>Library and selected a photo, clicked on "View Attachment Page" and see that it is still the same as before installing the plugin, and do not see how/where I can change that. It looks like a blog, and I desperately need it to look like a landing page.
Help!!??
Thanks to everyone.
