Hi -
I have a six photo Image Gallery implemented. Does anyone know there is a way to make ONE of the images rotate through a selection? I have a product catalog, and would like to make ONE of the six images in the Image Gallery display, randomly, a different product from my catalog.
Ideas? Thoughts?
Thanks zillions for everyone's help.

Website down for maintenance and overhaul, but I think you all probably know what an Image Gallery looks like.April 2, 2014 at 12:16 am #98024TomParticipantSandy,
I know what an Image Gallery looks like but admit to being a little baffled by your question 🙂
What is the starting point? i.e.
Is the gallery related to the product? 1:1?
Is the gallery made of images of a product of which one image is to be randomly displayed on the same products' page?
Did you want to randomly display one of six images per product in some other way?
One gallery only, or six(+/-) images per gallery?
What happens with the image? Does it link to something? or just display on the page? or display in a lightbox?Perhaps some more detail on your use-case?

Thanks for your reply. OK, let me see if I can answer some of your questions.
So, I have an image gallery implemented. There are six images in the gallery, three on each of two rows. Each image has a caption. Five of the six images are absolutely static. Ideally, the sixth image, the one captioned, "Shop," will be DYNAMIC. I have several different products, and would like to make it possible for my products to RANDOMLY display an image in the sixth placeholder of my image gallery. For example, my products might be jewelry, water bottles, travel mug, and apparel. I want some means of randomly displaying each different product in the "Shop" placeholder in the image gallery. Say I have eight products. Those eight would cycle through being displayed in the one Shop placeholder of my six-placeholder image gallery. When the image is clicked on, it takes visitor to that product and/or my entire product catalog. Does this make more sense?
I forget what a lightbox is, but I don't think I am planning to implement one.
Does this help?
Thanks,
Sandy

What you are describing is a 5-picture gallery, displayed with another, random image from another source. You might be able to find a plugin that will serve up a random image. But what you seem to really want is a random product link with a featured image/thumbnail image.
I think this is something you will either need to code yourself or investigate what your product catalog/eshop plugin can deliver.
