    My website uses the Gensis Balance theme and so, Google Fonts. But I was wondering, since I am using Google AdSense, doesn't it hurt the performance? Shouldn't we change it to something AdSense friendly?

    For better adsense integration you can change your website's content font to something that is more used like verdana, arial and so on.

    And what is the best way to change the font style in Genesis? Should I use a plugin or should I directly modify the CSS file?

    you can modify the style.css of the child theme you're using.

    In the following code:

    body,
    h1,
    h2,
    h2 a,
    h2 a:visited,
    h3,
    h4,
    h5,
    h6,
    p,
    select,
    textarea {
    	color: #222;
    	font-family: 'Lora', Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times;
    	font-size: 14px;
    	font-weight: normal;
    	line-height: 1.625;
    	margin: 0;
    	padding: 0;
    	text-decoration: none;
    }

    Change one line:

    	font-family: verdana, Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times;

    It worked! Thanks so much. Although I didn't like Verdana much. I think Lora is much better looking than Verdana.
