I'm using a News Plugin and was complaining to the Plugin developer that the News page didn't show a Page Title (like on a regular Page/Post), but I couldn't find the main News Page to edit it. According to the developer the News Page (where all the Plugins News Articles are displayed to the website visitor) is created by my Template (Genesis) and they just use the default Page provided by the Template. Also, each individual News Article can be viewed on their own page, with a path http://website/news/(News Article), and according to the developer, they just use the Path provided by the template as well.
Can someone tell me if the template actually does this, and if it does, how can I access the Page from the Admin dashboard so I can edit it (can't find anything in the Pages section of the Dashboard.

Because the news page is displaying posts, it uses an archive template just like your Blog Archives page, which doesn't have a page title on your site either.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?August 20, 2017 at 9:30 am #210563sunnypapabearMemberSo does this mean that I can't actually access and edit this Page (e.g. Add a title)? I don't know where to find it--I've looked at every option in the Admin Dashboard, though I possibly don't know what I'm looking for.
August 21, 2017 at 5:26 am #210575Victor FontModeratorIt's not a page. It's a template. Archive pages do display a title, but apparently, that feature is disabled in your theme. You're going to have to look through your functions file for the code that disables it. Since you're using the pro theme that uses the old XHTML format, you'll have to research the actual snippet. That theme is so old, I don't remember the syntax.
If this is a new website, I have to ask why you are using an outdated XHTML theme that is not responsive, does not have accessibility features activated, and is not using SSL, all of which are important for good SEO?

Have you requested your free website audit yet?August 21, 2017 at 8:42 am #210585sunnypapabearMemberThanks Victor and some good questions. The site is over 5 years old (maybe 6+) and when I purchased the Prose Theme it wasn't out of date. I had just retired and was following my life-long dream to be an Author, and this theme was being promoted as the best theme for my use. I'm NOT a developer by any means and built the site myself--revising it several times to improve functionality (this is just the latest iteration). I've got quite a few Plugins with a LOT of Custom CSS and some Custom Functions.
When I originally was looking for a theme I didn't realize that I should be getting one that was HTML5 (which the Prose theme is NOT). Regardless, I've put a lot of time into developing the site and struggled (learning from scratch) to get the site working the way I want (as you know since you have provided some of the solutions I've needed). I've thought of upgrading to a HTML5 theme like Author Pro--I even bought the theme along with Design Palette Pro. But as I looked at it there was no way I was going to be able to convert my existing site to this HTML5 theme without another steep learning curve. I've already invested way too much time on development that could have gone into my writing.
The obvious solution would be to hire someone to convert the site, but I'm retired and can barely afford the cost associated with trying to be an Author, leaving me almost nil to pay a Developer. So I'm stuck with what I have and trying to make it do what I want 🙁
