MemberHi everyone,
I am in the process of developing my first site using Genesis. I see my child theme (parallax pro) comes with a "front-page.php" which controls the static front page. I've set my page "home" to be my static front page. I tried creating a template for this, set my template, but no content showed. So I moved the content over to "front-page.php" and it worked.
But now underneath everything, the main nav is repeating itself, and there is a large heading "Home" just above the footer. I have read through a lot on Genesis before starting but my memory is failing me. Why is that there, is there a loop I'm missing? If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it!

MemberHi, normally once you add some content the front page widget areas, the front page should display without having to make any changes to templates. Have you tried that?

MemberHi Jackie,
No I didn't try that - I wound up messing with the template but I see that there are widgets set up specifically for homepage content. I'm using Advanced Custom Fields (plugin) though, and want my client to be able to easily edit homepage content, so I shouldn't go the widget route, right?

MemberI'm not looking at your install, so I can't say for sure. My suggestion would be to try that on a fresh install of the theme on a test site. Also, I find the setup documentation in my.StudioPress.com to be very helpful in setting up the theme to look like the demo - that is a good starting point.
Cheers.

ModeratorThe home pages for all StudioPress themes are widget based. Once you add content via widgets, the front page will display. You do not have have to use the set any home page using the WordPress settings.
Parallax Pro is a has a little different design than most StudioPress themes. If you don't use the Parallax home page as designed, you will lose the parallax effect.
